A fan of the Roofe signing. Plays with purpose and will help with our lack of impetus hopefully!

Step up from League 2 to the championship is a big one, but 26 goals last year suggests he at least knows where the onion bag is. Potentially a very good signing.

Strange how a league 2 (div 4) signing is greeted with much more enthusiasm than a Serie B (div 2) signing. Though yes this is a signing that has got me excited tooBrader wrote:Holy s**t what is happening ?! where are the Italian lower league buys

Interestingly when he plays against Swansea our new centre back, Bartley (wearing 27) is playing for Swansea and doesn't cover himself in glory making himself tiny as he 'attempts' to block the ball.
Some rank bad defending throughout the video so Roofe should feel at home on our training ground!!!!

I think it's more the fact it's a young and hungry player who knows the English game. And more importantly the language.weasel wrote:Strange how a league 2 (div 4) signing is greeted with much more enthusiasm than a Serie B (div 2) signing. Though yes this is a signing that has got me excited too
At least the language barrier won't be an issue in preseason and we might actually be able to get some solid work in. Another CB for me, and can see a striker or two leaving (Erwin more than likely on loan)

Well, things are looking interesting aren't they? If Antonsson and Roofe can survive the change to the Champinship, along with Wood we have decent attacking options.
I'm still worried about the centre of defence though. I'd like to see some focus there next.

And on a four year deal. And probably paid Oxford over 3 million for him.

On the negative side, Cook is supposedly off to Bournemouth for 6m.

Telegraph reporting that Cook is signing for Bournemouth for £6M - also Charlie Taylor won't be signing a new contract extension. Now we have our ups and downs in the same day.

Got to be honest for 6 million I'd not be overly upset to see Cook go. Yes he could develop into a fantastic midfielder but seems to have little end product and does not score enough goals from midfield.
Taylor on the other hand would be a real kick in the teeth.

I'd be disappointed but ok with Cook leaving for a goodly sum, but I'd be gutted if Taylor went.

I think Evans kinda ran Cook into the ground last season, and looked of it by the end.

Thank god Cook is going, Waccoe will be able to melt down again now they were beginning to struggle to stay negative
