I would urge several posters to actually read Clive's opening post again as not once does it mention anything about why the team or players are playing poorly.

The point Clive appears to be making is that fans are paying too much attention to the likes of Hay and Pope and taking their opinions as gospel truth.

Unbelievable Jeff.
"They're not Leeds fans, they're not local and it suits them if there's chaos at Leeds because it gives them more to talk about."

That does feel a little like blame. He's certainly not a fan.

But assuming you're right I think most here form their own opinions and they're as valid as anyones. I don't think, though we may quote for interests sake, anyone gets their opinions from the media.

Poor form and the club not moving forward pretty much go hand in hand. Poor results under Warnock and McDermott were the reasons they were sacked, not because anyone was influenced by hay or pope. As most of the above comments say, I find them pretty pro Leeds rather than stirring up hatred against a manager

Havent read this but i quite like Pope and Hay, seem pretty fair.

Noel Whelan can get on my nerves occasionally, says some daft things, but not to bad. The one who winds me up most who keeps giving us his opinion is Neil Redfearn. Never known such biased and negative opinions.

weasel wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 8:32 am Would also add Noel Whelan to that as lot of fans simply trot out his opinion as their own. To hear Whelan talk you'd think he was an amazing player for Leeds rather than just a reasonable player that never really hit the heights anywhere he went and I certainly don't recall him as an Alan Smith type chasing down lost causes and putting 100% in every match.
He's an absolute idiot, but I wanted to focus on the two who have been around for years.

I hate all the 'banter' on Radio Leeds.

You can see why Wilko got rid and why his career never took off.

Don & Billy will be turning in their graves

Whelan played at a higher level than our current lot & says it as it is rather than pussyfooting about with fancy words

They all have opinions because they are passionate about their football club. Over the years I've spoken to a few & seen many of our ex-players who still support LUFC home & away every game
Then why is Eddie all over the club's media making excuses?

I grew up on Norman and Bryn Law. I think Norman is not just the best Leeds commentator ever, but one of the best ever in football.

I say it as it is. Whelan spouts contradictory, hypocritical rubbish.

I saw.

In their responses they just proved my point by running down Warnock again.

They didn't give an explanation for why they were so supportive of Brian, and why Christiansen didn't get that same support even though he was doing much better.

There are a lot of people whose opinions match those of the media exactly.

The only way you can be sure that someone is not influenced by the media is if they occasionally have an opinion that goes against them.

But my whole point is that they were against Warnock and very pro McDermott, even though Warnock was doing a better job and had a better track record.

The usual way on here. They just ignore the post or steer the conversation in a different way or repeat the same thing they have spouted several times even though they have contradicted themselves (i.e. blaming Orta for the squad as an excuse for PH yet blaming TC too).

Redfearn is absolute poison.

Have you read what Warnock said about him in his autobiography?

He stabbed Darko in the back to get the manager's job and then basically hijacked the club.

I think it was Redfearn who first started to raise doubts about Orta and created the negativity that derailed our season.

Hay and Pope talked him up when he was manager.

We've already got a couple threatening to leave because they don't like my opinions.

This happened on other forums and the weak mods bowed to their threats and banned me even though I'd done nothing wrong.

Those forums are dead now.
