Hmmm... bit unsure on this.
They were going for years before, as Leeds city.
Started as Leeds United when they got banned for paying players !!

You are correct Haighy. Leeds City did indeed get banned for illegal payments and were disbanded. But, in 1919, the football club as we know it, 'Leeds UNITED' came together and was born. So, it really is Happy Birthday 'Leeds United'.....
