I dont see any reason if they knew Pontus was out that you bring in a CB, keep Phillips where he is and bring in a RB Shackleton

2 international breaks and more injuries at the end of them than before they started. It's all becoming quite a farce and very disruptive to our progress . I just hope that they don't suffer another defeat on the back of the WBA mauling as this will knock confidence and put tremendous pressure on them before the Reading game.

I like it Rab, but I doubt Bielsa will be brave enough to bring in a young CB or go with Clarke, he'd rather play players out of position, some work some clearly don't work. Managers/coaches love to play safe by playing experienced players who struggle to play well in their rightful positions.

Tbf Bielsa is famous for playing players where he wants.

It drove the Lille fans mad and alienated the players in the end apparently.

Not saying that will happen here but he is undoubtedly a stubborn man good or bad.

Five of our members have predicted a defeat or a draw, another member goes for a tentative win

Unsurprising bearing our injuries & obviously folk are not confident with our back-up replacements

Ayling & Jansson are massive losses, along with Hernandez, Roofe, Phillips & Klich those six are so important to what we can possibly achieve this season

I'm not buying it. Despite the fact that Phillips will be CB and Dodgy Dallas will be at right back (unfortunately) I still think we will have too much for them going forward.
As you rightly point out '64 they lost several of their best players in the summer and are coming to us off the back of three defeats.
I think those that start will be raring to go and prove that the poor performance against the Baggies was a one-off.
Let's hope I'm right or I may stay off this forum for a while.........

No better time for Halme to come in, I’m sure this was flagged last week that Pontus was out, so the kid will have had time to train and settle in as best he can.
