Just hope he hasn't damaged his knee again. Sometimes it's the next day when the injury really comes to light. Hopefully he's ok and maybe Clarkey will be on the bench against SU or even Reading. It would be nice to get a 2/3 goal cushion against Reading and give both Clarkey and Brown 30 mins to get back into it in preparation for SU.
MB said it was an impact injury from a kick, though it looked to me that his right leg buckled under him when he scored the goal, then he impacted with the goalpost.
It would be truly awful if we were robbed of his services for the next few games as he is looking the part now.

Phillips - 8 - Very good game, much better now he's learned not to sit too deep
Is it though that when we are in front he is able to be further forward as our full backs aren't then going forward as much? When we are behind or level does he have to sit deeper to effectively allow 2 players (our full backs) to go further forward? Note for our goal, so the game being level, Alioski and Ayling were both allowed to go forward was KP at this point deeper than he then became for the rest of the match?
As such for the whole WBA match and the majority of this match was he playing further forward as we were in front whereas for a lot of matches he hasn't been as far forward as we hadn't been in front until at least the second half and often late into the second half.

Absolutely, when he sits too deep he invites the runners on to him and our back four, he also messes with the balance off the centre back two and it seems there's confusion who picks up whom. I'm much happier with Ayling sitting deeper and not allowing wingers free rein down our right which is what was happening. Alio seems to have no problem storming forward at will atm ..

Had to grind out the last 10/15, but Bristol never really looked like scoring. I thought they seemed more interested in kicking us off the field tbh with some of the tackles coming in really late... a dangling leg caused Phillips' injury.
Casilla was getting the treatment as well, with their CB dropping on him after he collected a set-piece and a couple of instances where players swing boots as he picked up the ball.
Fortunately the ref seemed aware of these tactics, and I thought he pulled what was necessary and let the game flow (one big hit on Ayling during a break must have resulted in a yellow about a minute later as play had moved on.
Cooper probably motm for me. Him and Pontus dealt with everything and kept their big striker quiet. He's grown as a captain as well as a player this season.
Yet another Jekyll & Hyde performance from Leeds against a poor niggly side who were all huff & puff going forward with a dodgy back four & a rookie keeper, for all our play we hardly worked their goalie as the majority of our shots didn't hit the target.
Should have been coasting the game at least 0-3 at half-time, Harrison the main culprit. Losing Bamford disrupted the pattern/rhythm of our play, in the end we resorted to their level with hoof football, plenty of head tennis & passes going astray. The stats prove my point with our possession rate dropping from over 70% in the first-half down to 53% by the final whistle. I suspect Marcelo would be fuming with that aspect of our game as he certainly doesn't advocate that style of play
Positives
Early well worked goal
We started well & played some lovely football creating goal-scoring chances in the first-half.
Another deserved clean sheet for Casilla & his defence
Bamford sharpness in front of goal
Phillips, it is no coincidence since Kalvin returned we are winning again (should have played v Norwich).
Jansson & Cooper solid CB partnership
Ayling's best game in a while, pleased for Luke
Alioski's crossfield pass that in the build-up for our goal
Good to see Berardi back fit again
Atmosphere
Negatives
Bamford injury, no replacement with Roofe out. Roberts isn't a No.9
Phillips injury, looked gone for a period in the first-half, lose our academy jewel & we could have serious problems
Squandered far too many chances
Resorted to hoof football in the final 30 minutes
Midfield poor in 2nd half, no composure when needed
Ratings
7 Casilla 8 Ayling 8 Jansson 8 Cooper 7 Alioski 9 Phillips (MOTM) 6 Hernandez 6 Klich 6 Roberts 7 Harrison 7 Bamford Subs 6 Dallas 6 Douglas n/a Berardi

The main difference to our performance v WBA was that we didn't get the cushion of the second goal. We had the chances but with Bamford taking a knock we looked toothless in attack. As such the longer the match went on Bristol were always going to become more dangerous as they had nothing to lose. Maybe we were even a little tired towards the end as the players would have been on such a high after the WBA performance that sometimes you get the hangover effect. So despite having a week without a match it may have been that the 3 matches in a weak actually caught up with us this game (no longer running on adrenaline against a dis-spirited WBA team).

Harrison puts one of his four chances in the onion bag or Roberts easy chance in the 2nd half
Game over
Bristol were so poor they looked incapable of scoring, the danger was we'd gift them a goal
Roberts' finishing is very bad, I hope Bamford isn't injured. Is it linked to confidence? But saying that, his three goals were all excellent finishes so who knows.
Roberts is going to be a very good player, his inexperience shows but he has a great touch and finds space, the rest will come, he just needs time and games.
