Excuse me, but I expect that to be the case even on the days that we beat the likes of West Brom 4-0 :) :P

If the same happens in midweek in terms of results then it will definitely be playoffs as turning a 4pt deficit around (effectively 5) within 5 games is virtually impossible and I wouldn't back Leeds with someone else's money in that case.

Sigh. We can only hope this inspires another West Brom performance. We have the day advantage so we should be putting the pressure on. One minute that sums up our season, we hit the post they go straight down the other end and score. Hate playing teams in bad form because their luck will always be due to change, as it did today. I just they can at least try on Weds rather than rolling over. I just hope that Karen Matthews lookalike hasn't cost us promotion again.

Time for changes. Brown, Shack, Roofe mix it up now.

I've gotta say that I felt that blunts most difficult remaining match would be PNE and they beat them today.
So I honestly feel like they will not drop any more points.
Ot of their last 6, only Brum and Millwall have anything left to play for, staying up.
So we've gotta hope one or both takse something off them.
For us we've still got Villa, SW and PNE who are scrapping for the play-offs.
But I feel like we not consistent enough to snatch this auto spot.
Just gotta hope we find our best from and either nick the auto through SU dropping points, or storm through the play-offs.
We'll see what our guys are made of on Tuesday night, and hopefully these Brummies can beat SU, but I very muxh doubt it.
Poor performance and terrible result today, and worse is it gives blunts more hope than they had.

Casilla - 9 - Outstanding, we're set there for years

Ayling - 6 - No end product this week, not a bad game not a good one
Jansson - 6 - Obviously told to calm down and it showed, not the imperious defender we're used too.
Cooper - 6 - Just feel his been off colour last couple of games. Lacked leadership today I thought, too quiet
Alioski - 5 - a reckless defender who looks good if he gets it right, offered little up front today other than over-hit crosses and conversion style shooting. Did the opposite of closing down for the goal .

Phillips - 5 - Looked a much better player in there half than ours, made a hash of his shot and was abused at will by Adams who kept going past him like he wasn't there. Not savvy enough for me to play DMF and not quick enough to make amends for errors or stay with his man. Couple of long passes adds a point

Hernandez - 6 - Worked hard but no end product, his dead ball striking was poor. Sat too deep first half
Klich - 9 - Outstanding for me today, all our god chances came from his clever passing and even right before he was hoicked off he sent a delicious pass/cross which landed on Alio's foot inch perfect. All over the pitch and one he went the creativity went with him. Our most under rated player this season by a distance - MOTM

Harrison - 4 - We just don't get any consistency from him. He's still maybe a season away form being a useable Championship player. Talent is there though.
Roberts - 7 - Tried hard, but not given a lot of room to work ...I think our formation went out of the window second half and that didn't help

Bamford - 4 - Profligate, you cannot miss that first chance and hope to win games.

Roofe - 4 - Coming back off injury looked rusty and I don't think he'll make any impact off the bench this season anyway. It doesn't play to his strengths
Dallas - 4 - Worked hard which is about all you can ever say about Dallas, he'll get his day but that could come at any time.
Clarke - 3 - Mid season and I'm happy to keep persevering with a clearly talented Jack but we're at the vinegar strokes now and we should really put him back in his box for next season. (Yes I don't think we're playing prem football next season, I never really have thought that all season) Everytime he took on a defender he got tackled and tackled clean...7 times I counted

Very much agree Riot. I didn't watch it today but I always thought Brum & PNE would be the defining games during the run in and I expected a defeat today just as I do at PNE and I'll be in the restaurant during that game. Unfortunately over the years Leeds have me feeling pessimistic most of the time and atm nothing has changed that feeling. Sorry for sounding so abject but I do fear a tail off lasting into the playoffs.

Unless we're resigning Brown next season, then why is he here? Why are we spending money to get him fit for someone else? Can AR or Kinnear answer that to us?

Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 4:16 pm Jack Clarke and Roofe made no impact whatsoever.

Roofe against the big and powerful Birmingham backline wasnt a surprise, he gave the ball away every time.

Clarke hasnt looked right since he came back unfortunately, whatever he had has drained him of all his confidence and he was equally as ineffective as Roofe.
Can't disagree, Roofe would have buried the Bamford chance but once Klich was off we just lumped balls into the middle anyway. There needs to be a change of mentality going from Bamford to Roofe and that's not easy to do.

But the worst thing today was the subs, Dallas to right wing puts Pablo into the middle I'm assuming as an AMF because he started playing further up. At one point we had Clarke, Dallas and Ayling all playing on the right. Pablo at AMF puts Roberts where? Wing or playing the Klich role, he seemed a bit lost at times after the changes. At no point did we play a 4141 today. It was more of an asymmetrical 3 - 6 - 1

We will not win the playoffs and next season would be a nightmare.

There will be no building for the future.

Clarke, Jansson, Roofe, Phillips, Hernandez, anyone really will be up for sale.

Bielsa wont be here, i am absolutely convinced of it.

Its autos or back to square 1 imo.

I didnt think today was a game for Roofe tbh, they are to big and physical for him, no room and not match sharp obviously.

Bamford was so wasteful but at least he got chances i suppose.

Agree on the Klich point, we looked worse and Hernandez just got deeper and deeper.

I havent got a clue who was playing where mate.

Clarke was on the right then the left, Roofe was up top then he wasnt and Roberts was, Pablo was left, right, am and then dm it was bizarre.

Dallas and Ayling i have no idea which was playing where.

The subs were a mess and just seemed to cause confusion and we resorted to hoofing the ball towards the giant Birmingham defence every one over 6ft.

Excellent summation Faaip

Got to say that at our best we are a country mile better than the rest, but that hasn't happened enough, hence we're destined for the play-offs.

I do not fancy us a t all in the play-offs, but its my desparate hope that we can now find our form and either nick auto if SU slip up (which I very much doubt) or then need to beat BC, then AV or WBA at Wembley.

We're capable of achieving both routes, but at the moment our inconsistent form indicates to me that we'll miss out on autos and then bottle it in the final.

Lets just pray we find our form, as I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.

Very abject performance today = flat :x

agreed I wouldn't have had Roofe on the bench today at all. TBH not sure where he fits going forward but I've said that before. It's way too late in the season to introduce a 442 or 352, and it's way too late to bed in Brown and others. I think we have to play with what we have, get a little more creative with the subs and hope SU fall apart and/or we get the rub of the green in the playoffs.

Agreed. We have no chance of winning the play offs. Just accepting now that we'll be back in the Championship again next summer, makes it less painful I suppose.

Have to start again with a rebuild as key players will be sold.

We all know what the subs will be though. Dallas on first, Klich off and Roofe/Bamford for eachother. We never see underperforming players subbed or dropped.

MB likes his players to play through bad form, problem is that can take time. The non use of Shack has baffled me, I can understand not using Brown but not using a player who's been quality everytime he's played is mystifying
