Sussex get with 20 with 5 wickets left and lose all 5 for 11 runs ..Sussex blew it badly..Great game though, Mason Crane with 2 stumped wkts in 2 balls to finish it. We need him back to form after a long injury

I'm from Frimley/Camberley about 12 miles from Guildford. I live about a mile from the Hampshire border, my first postal address was Hampshire (even though we lived in Surrey) and dad took me to Hampshire games from the age of about 2 and before that he played for Fleet.
Plus my heroes were Gordon Greenidge and Barry Richards

Englands run up to the WC begins soon with their bi annual bribe match to Ireland.
Irish Cricket is in a rebuild so this is even more of a hammering today.
45 overs each after a delayed start due to a bit of overnight rain.
England win the toss and will bowl.
Starts 12.45.

Made harder work of that than we should have but comfortable win after an early scare ..Hants beat Lancs in the RLC semi to face Somerset in the final..The two best teams in the comp this season probably. Can we retain the title which I think is the last Royal London cup championship..

A man with great taste I suspect...Very happy with this weekend, listened to the commentary today while working in the garage but it all means nothing if we lose finals

Wow , I was a bit of a Hampshire supporter myself as my favourite aunt was from Middle Wallop . I loved Richards and Greenidge . (That 1973 Hampshire side was great - Jesty , Turner , Gilliat etc ) . I only ever saw them on tv , must have been great to see them live ( albeit I did see GG play for the W. Indies once at the Oval in 1976 ) .faaip wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 7:56 am I'm from Frimley/Camberley about 12 miles from Guildford. Peter Sainsbury, Andy Roberts, Nigel Cowley, Tom Motram....those were the days. TBH felt like I was getting dragged down till I got to about 10, but dad had a passion for the game until one day cricket arrived and it rubbed off. He hated the one day game ..league cricket accepted of course.billie1 wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 7:40 pm Wow , I was a bit of a Hampshire supporter myself as my favourite aunt was from Middle Wallop . He played a couple of first class games for Bombay state in the late forties...and I never got the hang of playing his leg spin in the nets...Very slow, dogged cricketers were his favourites. Always play yourself in boy...wait til you see the ball like it's a football
