I really struggled with 'Courage' initially

Glad you took to it immediately Nick, I believe I introduced Midlake to folk on here after someone on Waccoe recommended them to me, which must be over twelve years ago, doesn't time fly

I bought the Midlake album around time of release (the TTOVO) in 2006 on recommendation, thought it had promise out of the gate but it quickly faded and it got lost somewhere (think I lent it out) a few years later..Can't remember who to

Bought the Fleet Foxes debut a couple of years later which is a better listen all round...Big Thief are better than both for me,

Lloyd Cole - Guesswork, beautiful album from start to finish. Fans of John Grant will enjoy this. On first listen, it's rivalling Don't Get Weird on Me, Babe as the best of his solo work. His usual lyrical twists and wonderful delivery, with some electronica added for good measure. My only gripe is that some of the tracks feel a little strung out and could have done with being a minute or so shorter, but that's a minor quibble. Full album is on Spotify if you fancy a listen.

Interesting song writer at time is Lloyd Cole, I have a couple of albums on tape from the 80's but felt he tailed off badly..Will give this a alisten next few days see if the skill has returned

A couple of the Commotions are involved, faaip, I think it shows. Signposts where the band might have gone had they not split.

Need to listen the National's new one and new albums from

The Cure
The Who
Beyonce

may threaten the top 20 when they arrive later in the year

The Armstrong is growing and will be up for the best re-release and maybe lower reaches of the top 20 when all is said and done

It's very Tool, think I'd have liked a slightly different direction rather a continuation of 1000 days which this is...It's almost Tool by numbers..Still better than most but hoping for more from the album
