Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
A draw will only not be a dreadful result if Brentford don’t win. If they do win and we don’t I fear the gap will be closed very quickly and we’ll be in the playoffs again.Finnatic wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 7:24 pm I know we’d all want a win but a draw wouldn’t be too bad tomorrow.
We usually struggle there and I can’t see Blackburn losing three on the trot.
They did us last season with the same set piece (pulling our CBs to each post and charging into the gap in the middle)
Another game we dominated but got caught out.

We’ve got the most clean sheets (18) in the entire league, we’re 6 points clear of Brentford, we’ve got the 2nd best away record and average 1.7 ppg on our travels. Rovers are out of form since the restart. I’d rather be in our position than Brentford’s. let’s stay positive, a win today and other teams are running out of games to catch us.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd - MATCH THREAD
At this part of the season I don't want to play anyone with anything to play for, Blackburn almost do, but without Dack it would be a huge ask.
(Dack being someone I would go for when we go up)
I would bring in Bera for Cooper, Douglas for Dallas and Aloski for Costa.
I wouldn't drop Bamford with a weakened bench.

Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Thank f**k for Rich and Moth on this thread. So much negativity. I know we're all nervy and we have form for stumbling, but come on. We are 6 clear of third with six games left. IIRC Brentford have never been in the position they're in currently, but they're going to win every game and we're going to collapse like a deck of cards. The reality is that they have started well, we've been average, but we are the best team in the league and they are most certainly going to drop points before this is over. I'm not advocating hyper confidence, but a bit more positivity and belief would be nice. We can do this.

One reason for the negativity may be because after 40 games last season we had 1 point more ( 76 ) and yet missed out on promotion.lufc1304 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 11:36 am Thank f**k for Rich and Moth on this thread. Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd - MATCH THREAD
I suppose it comes from years and years of falling at the final hurdle stretching back to the late 60s early 70s. How many times have we been beaten finalists, beaten semi-finalists, league runners up, beaten play off finalists and semi-finalists etc? Not always the players fault either of course, we’ve also regularly been beaten by terrible/crooked refereeing which can never be ruled out from happening again. So can’t really blame anyone for feeling a bit apprehensive given our track record.
Having said that we are still in the driving seat and a win today (please) would calm a few nerves.

A win today would make a huge difference - a minimum 6 point gap to 3rd with just 15 points left on the table. As ever, the first goal is key - if we get it we will likely go on and win.rich_leeds64 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 10:38 am We’ve got the most clean sheets (18) in the entire league, we’re 6 points clear of Brentford, we’ve got the 2nd best away record and average 1.7 ppg on our travels. Douglas in for Dallas ..makes sense, Costa out for Alio.
Same line up otherwise with Pablo on the bench
