A 35 yr old with bags of experience against a 21 yr old, still learning his trade, trying to get a run of games going, they shouldn't be compared.

A bit harsh to be picking on Tyler. He's not a 10 or any other midfielder he's a striker and I'm sure that given a good run in that position he would repay the club's faith in him however in the PL he would have to settle for being back-up as we need a quality striker immediately . He gives his best but really should have been on the scoresheet today.

POS
Such an important game and we fans were not biting our nails down for the last 15 minutes.
NEG
The second half only lasted for 45 minutes.

21yo players influence games if they are good enough, tbf Roberts is a striker not a No.10
Roberts is a striker & not clever enough to play that role whereas Pablo can adapt playing right across the middle of the park influencing a game even when he is not 100% fit
Admittedly It's not Roberts fault, we never replaced Saiz (who I thought was distinctly average) Forshaw played that role at the beginning of the season however we didn't sign a specialist No.10 even though Pablo mainly played on the right.
Roberts is a tidy footballer, sadly he is rarely influential

I'm absolutely certain he'd be more influential as a striker
Not doubting his attitude, just think he will never lace Pablo's boots as he's not clever enough in that department
As soon as Pablo came on the pitch the whole game changed, we were sharper & moved the ball quicker, his influence was so immense culminating in one of the best team performances of the season

I think you've just proved my point mate, it's unfair to compare them.

Positive - we were pretty clinical!!! beautiful to watch
negative - ben white's mistake (getting a little bit sloppy at times!) and KP and harrison still can't take corners (wtf?!). First 2 mins and KP can't beat the first man with 2 corners (douglas showed them how to do it in the second half - positive!)

Re: Positives/Negatives v Stoke (1 of each only please)
Very unfair to compare Tyler Roberts and Pablo Hernandez - and don't forget that at the same age Pablo was playing as a winger.
Pablo has years of experience and that counts for a lot, those wishing he was 27 wouldn't see the Pablo of now playing like that when he was 27.
Roberts lacks that bit of composure and the quality to make the pass or shot as pinpoint as Hernandez but he is still learning. There is bags of potential but he is still extremely raw. Just as I wasn't blown away by Robert's appearance as a sub against Hull the same reasoning can be used to defend him here as in the first half of games, especially against parked bus defences, there is a lot less space to play the ball and a lot less time on it too. Hernandez has come on against Fulham and Stoke and pulled the strings as we have been playing at that point against opponents that were already losing and had to attack us. A player like Hernandez with space and time to operate is a huge weapon for us.

Behave yourself, Leon. No-one is saying that your opinion is worthless, folk are simply pointing out, in a very non-aggressive way, that it is a little harsh to compare a 21 yr old kid to a seasoned international who has played at the highest level and is one of those players that come along only very occasionally. Measuring any of the rest of our squad up against Pablo is unfair, never mind a raw bit part player!

Positive: Good performance that takes a lot of pressure off the team and manager.
Negatives: Swansea away will be a different match. Still got some work to do to get over the line.

Re: Positives/Negatives v Stoke (1 of each only please)
Picking up on the sloppiness ....too many occasions this is happening and we will be punished against PL opposition. What really drives me mental is the number of times that we pass it side to side at the back before passing it back to Meslier who because of the press kicks it upfield which invariably loses possession. This is all down to being too slow and indecisive at the back and not moving the ball forward quicker. Why is this ? Lack of movement from our midfielders or forwards ?danhirons wrote:Positive - we were pretty clinical!!! beautiful to watch

Harry it's just a debate. We aren't berating the players we are expressing our opinions while also commending the team on their performance. Don't see a problem with that personally.HarryofOz wrote:Oh man, we just won 5-0, give our players a break.

I'd be happy with a point at Swansea as I believe we will get at least 2 wins from the last 3 to see us home. The perfect finale would be to secure promotion at Derby next weekend. Bring it on !!WestgateRun wrote:Positive: Good performance that takes a lot of pressure off the team and manager.

Re: Positives/Negatives v Stoke (1 of each only please)
I think the comments about some of the players have been very derogatory. You can criticise a performance without rubbishing a player's ability (I have been guilty of this too, and it's wrong). But especially after such a great team performance. Just forget the negatives this once ;).
