I do find it odd that the rumour is another loan season for Harrison instead of a transfer though

Speaking of Argies

Juan Foyth. Out of contract soon at Spurs. If he ever gets fit.
Cos we won't see White again.
I think we need to take into account the state of the finances going forward into the PL - the figures are not that great when you look into them in greater detail. We are probably doing another loan for Harrison, as money will be tight, despite the 100m or so for playing in the PL.

- 5m is needed to upgrade the ground.
- Bonus payments due to the players for going up will apparently be 19m. I find this unbelievable, but apparently it's a legacy of the Cellino era.
- Apparently there is a loan outstanding of 4m or so which will need to be paid back.
- Player wages, which are currently about 46m will be close to doubling in the PL.
- We may be forced to pay out 18m for Augustin if the courts rule against us - plus his huge wages.
- Income from match day attendance may be severely reduced for many months to come.

So that doesn't leave very much left over for the purchase of new players. That's why I think the notion of paying 35m for White is pretty daft, even if Brighton agreed to this, which I don't think they will. He's done well this year, but he hasn't even played in the PL yet. We need to chop silly outgoings as well - Casilla's 30k a week wages, versus Meslier's reputed 1.5k a week. Are we going to be paying these huge wages for a keeper warming the bench ?

IMO the biggest priority will be to improve on the goal scoring capabilities of our front 3. Brentford's front 3 have scored 46 goals (I think it is ) whereas Harrison, Costa and Bamford have managed something like 25 goals between all three of them ( can someone give the exact figure ? ) IMO none of them are particularly good finishers. A total of 16 goals for a centre forward in a team which creates so many chances is plain ridiculous - but do we have the funds necessary to buy a quality PL striker ?

In fact ' own goal ' has scored half the number of goals as our sole centre forward who has played in nearly every game

Agree with this. I'd like to see us sort out our financial situation, so this never happens again, rather than flinging cash around. I'd also like us to own ER again, not Radz or his company, but the club.

Don't we get £8m less TV money as well? Harrison would have cost £8m.

For me, the first priority is BEN WHITE. 40 millions? I'd pay that. He will cost more than that in a few years.

Then, I'd love to see CHARLES ARANGUIZ on the team. Great player, humble and Bielsa knows him perfectly. Sadly, Leverkusen wouldn't let him go easily.

Beside that, we need a great forward. That's the most important position for us.

Experienced GK: Don't know, please not Joe Hart
CB: Foyth maybe, or White on loan if he goes to Liverpool
Playmaker: Thiago Almada/Matias Zaracho or Oscar Rodriguez on loan from Real Madrid
Striker: Callum Wilson
LB: seen rumours of Mitchel Bakker on loan from PSG, that'd do me

Are the positions we need to strengthen imo. We might need to use the loan market as funds will be tight.

For me its vital we are organised and fast.

We always seem to talk about how advanced things are and then end up taking ages to sign anyone despite it being well known MB wants players in early.

This summer we need early transfers well in time for MB to get them up to speed with what he wants, its vital.

Dont want to hear Kinnear talking about how advanced things are in a week then still be sat waiting a month later.

We need to be on point this time.

Talk of 40m for White is madness. Regardless of what he might cost in 3-4 years. A 65m defender is no good if we are back in the Championship and he wants to be sold anyway, this time also probably without KP etc.

I've seen it suggested anywhere from 20-80m as our transfer budget.

We simply cannot go up and blow our entire budget by maintaining the current squad and just sign the players we already have and expect not to be in a relegation scrap for most of next season. We are already 16m deep on Costa, if we have to pay the JKA 20m, we are in serious trouble already.....

In reality we are competing with about 11 teams next season, the remainder are no chance of relegation. Of which, all of them apart from the Blades have been in the EPL for an extended period of time and their squads dwarf ours financially. Even the Blades have some likely European football revenue coming in and will have consolidated their finances with another year in the top flight.

A relegation rival in Brighton has a 40m player on loan, they don't particularly need and are likely to cash in to further finance an already fairly expensive squad (at least compared to ours). That is what we are competing with next season.....

Unlike Brentford, we don't have someone like Benrahma or Watkins that may finance this entire campaign. Our version would of been White, but he's not our player..... The only other player with that sort of collateral is KP and we certainly aren't selling him given his loyalty in finally getting here.

Yes, we are a huge club, but it means f**k all sometimes, money talks and some of these clubs despite their smaller stature have been on the EPL money tree for long enough to render to size of the respective clubs irrelevant.

I can't stress how important the next 12 or so weeks are for the future of the club. All of these decisions are so critical.

Spot on.

The front half is a serious issue.

We are were we are because of our defensive record and our style of play.

That will only take us so far at the next level, you need to score goals to survive in the top flight.

We really need to pull quite a few cheap signings out of our asses. The only way I see that is by going to continental Europe.

Or alternatively, manage to bring in a few more quality loans.

Or alternatively so academy prospects come right on in the next 12 months.

They've been talking 50 million for Danny Rose for the past couple of years. His value has probably dropped and we get 10% discount, but he'd still be way out of our budget

As far as I understand Harrison is still the same to-buy option but just deferred another year. It's a good deal. It allows us 12 months to pay and frees up that money to buy someone else this year. I'm surprised Man City agreed but maybe it helps out their FFP somehow .

He's contracted in 20/21 on 60k per week.

Another loan could be a legitimate option, especially given he's also turning 31 next year.

That wage would be pushing it though.

Anyone who thinks MB hasn't been thinking long and hard about who he wants to bring on for next year is daft.

That man thinks about everything and misses nothing. He was thinking about who he'd need in the PL when he first signed on two years ago.

I have no idea, and don't care to speculate, about who he might have in mind. I'm just sure he has an idea right now of what his team will look like when the 2020-21 PL season begins.

I will say this, you may be underestimating the bellowing of our coffers we are about to receive.

Between the basic EPL TV revenue distribution, the new kit sponsorship and Adidas, I figure that as around £140m a year injection.

Teams like Everton report +£50m above the £82m distribution for their Tv revenues, someone like Chelsea, reports +£120m with £200m total. With Leeds TV etc, I think you can expect us to probably have £140m+ in TV revenues.

This isn't taking into account other commercial benefits, sponsorships etc.

Kinnear has stated he is forecasting for us to be in the top third of EPL revenues next year.

Spurs were 6th in 2018 with a turnover of £381m. Everton were 7th with £190m. Leeds reported a turnover of £48m in 2019.

If he's right, we are looking at a £150m-£300m+ revenue increase.

We just need to stay up for a season or two to consolidate and we will be throwing the cash around like the big boys. We will be able to afford anyone we want to. Everton have spent £210m in the last 2 seasons, I fully expect us to turnover something closer to Tottenham not Everton when fully up and running. Especially seeing as our wage bill currently is effectively nothing compared to those sides. We starting from a clean slate so to speak.

We should be looking to emulate the likes of Dortmund and RB Leipzig imo. Sign young talented players in u23 teams and European teams that we can turn into £60m+ players. Jayden Braaf from Man City for example. He wants to leave for first team football and will end up being the next Sancho.

Whatever Leeds do in the TM I just hope they do it wisely and sensibly. These are very important times so it's very important they get things right . Get players in who are going to make an impact immediately - not 3 months later when Bielsa is finally happy that they are the fittest guys on the planet. We've already wasted millions on loans and others who haven't featured much if any at all and this needs to improve.
