There has to be 2 center backs before the start of the season. I see Strujik as a 2nd back up at CB, and that he can cover the DMC role is useful too. It gets Strujik a place on the bench, but I'd rather see a back up CB with at least a season of first team experience.

Looks like Bournemouth are going to be in financial trouble. Could see some of their players leave on the cheap Ake, Brooks, Callum Wilson, King, Ramsdale etc. Any of them would be good signings.

I know some fans would want Lewis Cook back, but unless it was like >£5m or something, no point as not a position we need to sign.

Ake would be perfect but is going to one of the big clubs

Would love Lewis Cook, but his position is not our priority - we should spend our money in other areas

Wilson and Ramsdale would be good signings but not sure about price. Transfermarkt is about 20m and 10m. I'd do that, but probably higher once the bidding starts.

Beren Cross says that Florentino Luis and Juan Foyth arent players we are chasing.

Jonathan David was someone we looked at but Lille are so far down the line we no longer are.

Thats sad, have a horrible feeling we will stubbornly go for over priced domestic players.

Beren also says that Thiago Almada and Lucas Martinez Quarta arent being chased.

Hopefully he is totally wrong.

Not going for one of the most highly rated young players in the world after they express interest in order to go for over priced domestic players would be so stupid imo.

Bielsa is a draw so use him ffs.

Two quality CB's, an attacking midfielder that scores goals & a prolific striker are essential signings imo!

Premiership clubs can't loan out players to other clubs in the Prem, in the same season that they have bought them.

I didn't know that. It must be a new rule implemented then.

Now that Swansea haven't gone up, we should go in for Joe Rodon. He's just as good as Ben White and should be available on the cheap as Swansea have lost their parachute payments.

Another CB for Brighton. How many do they need? I wonder what White thinks about that?

I hope we arent going to sit around twiddling our thumbs until August 4th to see if Brentford get promoted or not.

Given Orta waited a whole month before moving on from Che Adams, hope we have learned to not be so 1 track minded.

A bidding war will go on for Eze and Benrahma. West Ham and Villa would think nothing of paying £25mil plus for both.

No point sitting around and waiting imo for Benrahma because we will lose a bidding war if Brentford dont get promoted and he isnt worth more then £20mil.

Move on, we need signings in place before mid August if season starts mid September.

almada would be a stupid buy - we need to use our funds for players ready to play a starting role in the first team this season - not in a few years time. if we've got cash to spare then yeah fine, but splashing 20 plus mill on a 19 year old with only a season and a half of football behind him would be madness

no idea who the other guy is but, like most signings from south america, would just be a total gamble

Seems to me like we're not going to be doing any early business, which is a concern when we need any new players to get used to the physical and mental demands of Bielsa and his chosen playing strategies.

It's great we've got Costa, Meslier and Harrison sorted out, but seems like we're not making positive progress with this supposed list of five positions that MB has given to Orta.

We hear all these fancy names bandied about and then a day or so later a report is published saying somebody else already has him nailed down (Lille and David) or the guy says he wants to stay put (Velez Sarsfield and Almada).

What I'm really concerned about is we're hanging around until the last minute, as with Dan James and Che Adams, only to get left standing at the altar with our knickers round our ankles.

The concern after that is that Orta then just grabs whatevers left eg Izzy Brown, Patrick Bamford, Jamal Blackman, JKA and the list goes on. These players are generally available because nobody wants them due to fitness, injury, demand or attitude issues.

Seems like, after all the initial excitement and hyperbole we're back to familiar territory during the transfer window.

I sincerely hope I'm completely wrong :duno:

Agreed - and since we make signings so late, they're on the bench for 3 months getting acclimatized

Well we were in for Che very early and tbh maybe we should have left it til the last minute to pull out. We're probably working on the Bielsa deal at the moment. Technically we're managerless right now. I think we're the only Prem team that are?

Lille were always favourites for David, we were just maybe trying to hijack that deal.

Latest is that we are going to sign a RB. Is there any position we need less?

Just hope we get it right.

Hope the reports of MB having a list of his own targets is true.

We have to get recruitment spot on this summer, players ready to come in and make a difference from day 1.

Not in 3 months, 6months, 12months.

We need quality, although only a cup game 1st half vs Arsenal showed we can compete.

What we lacked was that bit of extra class in key areas, thats what you need in the Prem.

4 or 5 quality additions and we'd be fine.

Hope

Ayling could definitely be improved upon, but there are 4 other positions that should be higher priority

BBC reported that Bournemouth have accepted a £40 million bid for Nathan Ake. I guess that pushes White's price tag up and out of our budget?

If BHA are looking to cash in they'll surely sell him for top dollar, no skin off their nose if he doesn't get game time wherever he goes.
