London is a festering cesspool of sin and iniquity, bright lights and sordid lifestyles
House prices are astronomical and you need a footballers wage to be able to afford
accommodation. London turns footballing legs to jelly, and brains to massaging oil.
Look what London did to Watkins and Benrahman in the playoff final.

What footballers need are modest wages commensurate with their skills and to live
above a chip shop in Weatherby. They need a flat cap and a whippet which they take
out for a walk every morning after they have made their beds and cooked their own
breakfast. They need to choose the Bielsa spartan life and become footballing legends.
There is no other way.

Harrogate and the North York Moors should seal the deal for any player looking for a place to live. :) The club need to promote the area more. What's Manchester or Liverpool got to offer?

Bielsa loves Weatherby. I'm not sure him living above a sweet shop was a good idea in hindsight.

yes but no but yes but when he walks into ER he is always dishing out the sweets to anyone waiting to greet the players... you see this illustrates the meticulous planning and foresight that Bielsa does.

So transfer news of the day!!!!

Emi Buendia will be allowed to leave Norwich for a fee around £20mil, we are heavily linked.

Goalie Emi Martinez has basically said make me number 1 or i will leave to Arsenal.

Being linked with Brentford left back Rico Henry, for the right price its a good deal.

Incidentally all this talk about Watkins and Henry, we were linked with both before Brentford got them, we just werent prepared to pay the money which was about £4mil for the pair.

Also linked to Rangers left back Borna Barasic and we were willing to offer north of 30M for David but he didn't want to come

Luckily, Bielsa should be able to attract quality players to sign for Leeds. Also, a player who would turn down the money/lifestyle in London to come and play under a more exciting manager has the exact attitude we are looking for.
When you play for a London club the amount of travelling the players have to do is much reduced due to the number of local derbies.
Next season the PL has Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Fulham, Chelsea and Crystal Palace plus relatively short journeys to Brighton and Southampton for the London clubs.
I believe this has a bearing on a player's decision when deciding who to sign for, although one of many they take into consideration with money being the biggest factor obviously.

The club have made offers to clubs for players.

Buendia is NOT a top target so imagine no offer for him (shame imo)

Orta was spotted at Manchester Airport at 5am this morning and is out of the country meeting a potential new signing.

Bit odd to go to Manchester, anyone who knows air travel better then I possibly suggest why he wouldn't fly from Leeds?

Mcr is a bigger airport so more destinations available. Also more choice of airlines. Leeds/Bradford is a much nicer airport though.

Whoever we get to go upfront hopefully it will not be Mitrovic as he not my kind of player for Leeds as his temperament on the pitch comes into question imo.

Drameh is 19 so shouldn't be far away from first team football..in normal circumstances

I'd rather go for Senesi for £18m than £15m for Foyth. I think we'll sign one big CB (Senesi/Foyth/White/Martinez Quarta) and then one cheaper one, maybe Rob Dickie from Oxford.

I wish we'd stop buying all these u23s. What's the point if we never play them?

Grade 1 Academy now SG, so the bar is raised at U23 level, and we do play some of them if they are good enough. We have always been recognised for the quality of our academy. Or do you want to go back to Bates/Cellino times when they draining the lifeblood out of it.

Victor Orta on the crazy situation that exists with the transfer market due to Covid19

No one in football knows about budgets without fans in the stadiums. Every club is nervous.

“People say clubs are ready to sell because they need funds but some clubs don’t want to sell because they feel that the players they sell will be more expensive later.

“Then people say it’s a market for loans, but nobody is making lots of players available on loan. It’s really strange and there’s no precedent.

“All the deals that have been done already were probably done six months ago but, after COVID, there aren’t many clear deals being closed.

“When you’re in a situation you’ve never lived before, you don’t know which road to take.

Is he getting his excuses in early I wonder?

To be fair though this situation is unprecedented!
