Re: Rodrigo
Are Adidas putting anything towards the signing?

Re: Rodrigo
Very rare for a player coming from abroad with no experience of English conditions to hit right off the bat, may need half a season at least to settle. I'd imagine he plays up top for us once he's ready.

Re: Rodrigo
Bit worrying when someone limps into a medical
His injuries are my only concern, a very long list over the last 2 years and MB pushes players hard.
For me, you dont sign injured players, if that is a injury call off the deal.
Lets hope we got this one right, dont need another JKA/ Forshaw/Roberts.
Signed

Re: Rodrigo
looks more like just the way he walks rather than that he's limping
Re: Rodrigo
From viewing the YouTube clips
Rodrigo's positioning, anticipation & running off the ball is class.
Has plenty of pace.
Makes scoring goals look easy.
Scores difficult & plenty of easy chances.
Pablo will love him!

Re: Rodrigo
I actually went to the Mestalla, when I was living in Spain, and saw Rodrigo playing for Valencia when they beat Celta Vigo 2-1 in 2017. Must admit that nobody really stood out that night as it was a pretty dire match between 2 teams in the bottom half of La Liga.

Re: Rodrigo
Well, it looks like he passed the physical so if he's injured we might want to check to see if our physios are drunkCjay wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:41 amMedical.

Re: Rodrigo
We have to remember he's taking a step down to come here, and the last player to do that was Pablo! We don't have enough top level experience in the team, so Rodrigo and Koch would be very good signings.

The optimistic part of me, which tends to be dominant in most things, says this signing goes some way to future-proofing us in the Prem.
The pessimistic part of me worries that he'll be JKA 2.0.

Re: Rodrigo
Age, injuries and MBs training schedule worry me over this signing. Let’s hope he can get swiftly up to speed

Seems to me that JKA was a bit of a panic buy when it became clear that we weren’t getting Che Adams.mothbanquet wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 2:47 pm The pessimistic part of me worries that he'll be JKA 2.0.
I’d like to think that the club wouldn’t make the same mistake again so soon.
Reports are that Bielsa is absolutely over the moon with Rodrigo and didn’t think it would be possible for us to get him. This feels more like a player that Bielsa wanted than a player that the club felt they needed (and bought in a panic).
Re: Rodrigo
Not too excited about this signing on the face of it. There were lots of other La Liga strikers outside the top 5 clubs, I would have liked the club to try and sign. But, I guess the jury's out and I can only hope Rodrigo proves me wrong
