You're back and what a statement. You guys went head to head with Liverpool. This is one game where the points are secondary to the performance. I imagine the performance will provide the team with confidence for the rest of the season along with a sense of being hard done that will help get a little more out of them

I feel like a new dad holding his first child. Thank you Marcelo. Thank you boys. And thank you to ALL the back room staff but particularly Radz, Orta and Kinnear.
I love this club.

Massive credit to Jack Harrison and Helder Costa.
Huge
Giant
They both had maybe the most important job, keeping TAA and Robertson quiet.
They did that superbly.
Tracked them, hassled them, pressed them and made them defend.
Jack Harrison turned into Lionel Messi for his goal and Costa turned into De Bruyne for his pass.
Was also nice to see two teams try and play football rather than 1 team and another camping in their own half.
Unfortunately after that performance i suspect we will have to get used to playing parked buses largely but Liverpool helped make for a very exciting game.

Yes Villanois, we didn't get the rub of the green yesterday which makes our performance even more impressive, our heads could quite easily have gone down however the mentality & belief amongst this bunch of players just drove us on after each knock back which typifies the courage of our squadVillanois wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 1:59 pm You're back and what a statement. We now have to follow up that performance with a victory v Fulham in our next match

The conundrum...
We deserved a point at least but yet somehow can't escape the feeling that Liverpool always had a bit extra in their locker.
Suppose that's because we were always playing catch up becasue of the early pen.

Fulham won't be easy, they know how we play and have beaten us recently...Lets not assume the two results mean we beat Fulham 4-0.

I thought Costa was excellent yesterday second only to Klich in my top 6.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 2:20 pm Massive credit to Jack Harrison and Helder Costa.

Needs to be as well, Poveda looked very good at the end of the season when Costa was injured.

Agreed, and I've been critical of Harrison but played well and a fine goal.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 2:20 pm Massive credit to Jack Harrison and Helder Costa.

Re: Liverpool v Leeds United - MATCH THREAD - Cooper out, Struijk starts
I'm so proud of our performance yesterday and thrilled for us, Radz, Kinnear, Orta, Bielsa and the players.
That was a statement of intent and it's absolutely confirmed that we are back on the big stage.
I've talked to a number of Liverpool and neutral fans and they're all amazed at how good we are. They all said how proud they are of Leeds United, wow what a compliment.
I'm enthralled with this season and how we progress.
I'll stick with my prediction that we'll finish third.

Apparently the 33 tackles we made are the most by an away team at Anfield since Klopp took over in 2015.

Having re watched the game, did anyone notice that Mo Sala for all his greatness has lapses of concentration. bordering on laziness? (arrogance maybe?)... saw Klippity roasting him twice, one of the times pretty severely.

That would unnerve a team, meeting a team that is not "afeared" of their reputation... the prem better get used to itAussieleeds wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 10:35 pm Apparently the 33 tackles we made are the most by an away team at Anfield since Klopp took over in 2015.
