McCarron is a little lower down the pecking order. I've heard that McKinstry is a great dribbler and naturally a winger. We know Bielsa likes to develop players into new positions, which is what I thin was happening on Monday. He'll probably play 10 and both wing backs in the 23's at some point. I just think Sumerviler is higher rated having played at higher levels

Off topic but Saiz just scored in a friendly against Barcelona. Forget we had him sometimes.weasel wrote:I think Bielsa is trying to convert McKinstry into a ball carrying no.10 in the Saiz mould. Think that is what he would have done with Dan James too and he also tinkered with Jack Clarke in that role last summer but was presumably not impressed.

Re: Crysencio Summerville - DEAL DONE
Congratulations Crysencio
Nominated for the u23 April Player Of The Month.
He has had an awesome season.
6 goals and 5 assists in just 12 games.
At most clubs that probably guarantees him a place on the bench and a cameo reward but i very much doubt that will happen with us.

This lad is on another level. I think he - along with all the other U23s we want to see in first team action - will need to be probably tested in the fires of PL2's top division before they're chucked into Prem games however.

wow seems very decent at 18 looking at that clip, lets hope that he wont be used for under 23 for 1 year and then sold on, looks the type of player we need on the bench and be unleashed at any moment bright future ahead for this kid lets not mess it up, looks like a ronaldhinho type player.

Crewe in a cup tie is still a step up from the U23’s

Re: Crysencio Summerville
Same as last season then when we lost against Hull.
I don’t see the problem with playing a weakened side in this competition.
Lots of clubs do the same but later, bring in the big guns to try to win it.
It’s still a step up and playing in front of a reasonable crowd, which the U23’s don’t do.

Re: Crysencio Summerville
If our u23s are going to effectively be our bench then they need to be good enough to beat a side 22nd in League 1.
If we insist on having a tiny squad and that our u23s are part of the reason for our piss poor transfer window then they need to be good enough to beat a league 1 side imo.
No excuses, if we can't put out a weakened side vs Crewe then win then it shows our squad issues, this would be a very important test of our squad imo.
Frankly we should be able to change the entire starting 11 and win

Re: Crysencio Summerville
If he doesn't get any game time by January, I'd loan him out for the rest of the season. He's far too good for the u23s and it's unfair on him, and stifling his development, to not allow him first team football.

It looks like he will definitely get game time now that Costa is away. We have a small squad and in spite of Bielsa’s love of wingers, we actually don’t have many of them now. A couple of injuries or suspensions will see him called in very quickly.
Looking forward to see how he’ll fare.

Expect he'll be on the bench regularly so hopefully he'll get his chance soon.

Re: Crysencio Summerville
Poveda and Costa are gone and Raph will become the new no.10 so you only have James and Harrison as wingers and it's a long season so Summerville get plenty of opportunities.
