Hatrick Bamford, hope he can channel that frame of mind he had for the latter 2 goals in the future. Proper Premier League striker finishes.

Oscar gives it some wellie post match. Gushes about the feet of Rodrigo and the Ralpha pass that was equivalent to splitting the atom.

I'm hoping we will see Mr Angry Bamford from now on rather than Mr Nice Guy Bamford. Amazing what a difference a big shot of adrenaline can do to a player. Question is how do we make sure he is fired up in every game ?mothbanquet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 7:59 am Hatrick Bamford, hope he can channel that frame of mind he had for the latter 2 goals in the future. It reminds me of the Charles Atlas advert from long ago along the lines of ' I was tired of being a puny and timid weakling and getting sand kicked in my face on the beach so I started bodybuilding and ended up with a physique which you can have too. Nobody kicks sand in my face now. '
I think in the past Bamford as a no 9 has been too timid and has suffered from nervous tension in front of goal. Anger and adrenaline does away with all that in a flash.

Just a thought
Were we more quicker moving forward with the ball without Kalvin?

Same here Leon, I watched on Peacock TV, they had Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe in the studio, at HT they were saying bring Bamford off put Rodrigo up front and Roberts on, that’s why they’re second rate pundits and not managers similar to Gobby Agbonlahor.
Fantastic to watch and great game management by Bielsa. We could easily have had 6 last night with Bamford netting 5 and you’d have backed Hernandez 99/100 to finish his chance late on.
We did seem to break like lightening last night, was this due to Klich wanting to get it forward earlier than Phillips does? Shacks with pace to spare? Or just Bielsa telling them to go for it knowing we’re the fittest team in the division. This was tipifyed in the dying minutes when we broke with 7 on 4 but Harrison wanted to get in the scoresheet when he could have squared it to any one of our unmarked players.
Wonderful to watch and our best game back in the prem

I do wonder after watching that display, does Kalvin slows our play up?

Re: Aston Villa v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Struijk starts in defensive midfield
I dont even know who was playing dm after Struijk went off?
It could be KP slows us down or it may be that KP has been coached within an inch of his life to play dm whereas Klich and Shacks ( must've been one of them ) are box to box mids so naturally more progressive?

Klich was DM and Rodrigo and Shackleton were midfield pivots. Shackleton was upfield next to Bamford when he scored his third goal.Cjay wrote:I dont even know who was playing dm after Struijk went off?
