The whole field (bar one) thought the third last was signed off, so didn't jump it. It wasn't. The staff were carrying the signs to put round an injured jockey, and in the gloom, they thought the signs to divert were on top of the fence. They were all disqualified except the one trailing in last, which was the one that I had backed.
