Re: RIP To those departed - Maradona
Gascoigne had everything .
For me he was as good as most other top players ..
However ! Paul wasted what he may have a been a world class performer for how Long..?
We didn't see it to really know.
Technique, cleverness, passing under pressure ,finding a extra yard to both create and i was going to say tackling but that maybe was his downside. 1991 was evident and he still got back..alas!
When you see the plaudits Bryan Robson got and he was a terrific player too better than most but Gascoigne was a notch or more above him.

Re: RIP To those departed - Maradona
Maradona was to say the least an audacious, clever , and wonderfully two footed individual and the artistry to make himself an iconic player with the cheek and willingness to make things happen. His build for a tiny fella was his saving grace on and probably off the park .RIP.

Peter Alliss passed away
Re: RIP To those departed
RIP Peter Alliss.
Never won a major due to his poor putting but still won 20 professional tournaments before becoming the BBC's voice of golf.

Paolo Rossi has died aged just 64 . His goals single handedly won Italy the World Cup in 1982 including that incredible hat trick against the brilliant Brazilian side .
