It was way worse than the scoreline suggests mate. That's the best power cut you've ever had.

It was all over in the first couple of minutes. McTominay charged through us and scored like vintage Messi.

We had no midfield and no defence, so they just had a field day. Bielsa was schooled by the school teacher.

We are nowhere near the level of the top six end of.

I wouldn't bother watching a rerun, it was just appalling.

I've already forgotten about it. Let's just get on with the business of staying up by beating Burnley and Baggies.

Need to stay up and get some better quality players in that are capable of making this system work.

We'll get a few more poundings this season, but will also dish a few out, as this goes with where we are and the style we play.

It's up to the lads and Bielsa to get it sorted before Burnley.

I still believe we'll comfortably stay up.

Man I will win nothing and OGS will be sacked by the end of the season.

Wow, that bad ! Thanks for you input, I reckon/hope we will stay up, but the gulf is massive, I sometimes wonder if it's about football or how much money a team has, we certainly have the best manager in the world.....

I ve got to say I'm with Marcelo on this .
He has the vastness of coaching methods and picked up both international as well home grown experience.
It isn't a given but when you stand at a base of a mighty mountain and have you're very own uniqueness on the capacity to scale it.
The route, conditions, well being and very importantly proper tools to get up and around this momentous task are certainly needed. Knowing the limitations of oneselve is not only very easy but the group surrounding and cajoling you on is heaven sent. We shall wait and see. Love Marcelo!

What an awful game that was. Watched it late so missed all the drama live.

Not a good performance by any stretch but the score line flattered them thanks to our leaky defence.

Still a much better performance than the West Ham game imo. At least we created chances here.

5-2 win last week, 6-2 loss this week. There were always going to be ups and downs. Of all the teams to lose heavily to though, scum are the worst.

Bielsa will be furious, I’d imagine the players can say goodbye to their day off on Christmas day.

Time to keep our heads up, 2 big games coming up next week...

I thought it was pretty entertaining, the first season Bielsa was in charge it became obvious we were going to score a few but concede plenty. Nothing has changed defensively , lots have said it ,he ain't going to change so may as well accept it. If the finishing had been better 10v 5 would have been a fair reflection. Strap in for a few more like the last 2 games.

Yeah, I feel the same MJS.
Pointless getting worked up about it, cos it'll be happening again this season.
We're more than likely gonna get humped at Spurs if Kane and Son get into gear.
Let's just enjoy the ride and take the bad days with the good.
It's not so long ago we had Heckingbotton, Evans, Rosler, McD and Darko at the wheel, so life has defo been a lot worse than this.
Beat Burnleh and Baggies and job's a good un

That's it Velo, but money isn't everything.

Look at the turkeys Scum have bought: Pogba 90 million  Maguire 80 million

Booted out of the Champions League early again

That's another false dawn for them, they'll be bitter as hell when Liverpool waltz off with the title again

I'm happy with what Bielsa has achieved with us, but to compete against the top 10 will take a lot more time and money. So it may well be another coach at the helm when that comes to pass.

I get the feeling that these three seasons have taken a lot physically and mentally out of Marcelo. He's basically taken a team of average bottlers up to the top level of English football, which I don't think any other coach would have managed.

I understand what Bielsa is saying about believing in your style and sticking to it. What I don’t understand is why you wouldn’t push hard to fine tune the style or improve it with time. No artist stands still. Don’t get me wrong, I love how we play, but achieving a better standard in how we play that style to reduce the amount of goals conceded does not have to negate your style.

Conceding constantly on set pieces is just careless and silly. Different positioning, a more physical approach on crosses, coaching Meslier to come out and catch or punch, or even considering putting wingers on the posts for corners is not in anyway abandoning the attacking philosophy.

Yeah, me too, let's stick with him.

He's probably the most knowledgeable coach in world football, cares passionately about the players, club and the fans and has definitely given his guts to make us what we are.

We shouldn't underestimate how difficult it was to get out of the Championship, and how even more challenging it is to compete at this level. Look at how Arsenal and Newcastle are struggling despite the money and players they have.

HarryofOz wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 5:54 am I'd say that he plays players outside their perceived position, but he has acquired players who can do that.

Yes, his system comes first and he gets the players to play that system, but he also acquires players who suit that system best.
It seems to me he buys players to sometimes convert, we're starting Rodrigo as a 10 rather than the 9 or 11 he's more use to playing. Kalvin he took from AMF to DF/CB, Berardi he turned into a CB from RB, Dallas was a midfielder till MB came along, he's moving Davis to CB.

He likes mouldable pieces of clay to work with. I don't think we'll ever see a team built specifically to play the Bielsa system.

Alioski failed to win a single tackle and lost a massive 67% of his duels, prevailing in just two of the six he contested throughout the clash.

Clearly, the left side of Leeds was a huge weakness because Jack Harrison also lost possession a mammoth 24 times.

I'd play Shack right back and keep Dallas at left back. Only unforced change I'd make .

The reason I gave him a rating of 4/10, on those stats my score was way too high

Kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it ...188 million, would say our's a tad more than 3 or 4 mill but no where near that ...
