Incidentally our pitch is in an appalling state.

Its not helpful to our style of play.

In my opinion, the main reason we didn't attack particularly well today.
A lot of poor first touches by the likes of Klich and Rodrigo which isn't like them and I think the poor state of the pitch was a key factor.

Well just finished the game was late from work. just what the doctor ordered that...Scrappy, bitty, untidy, with the odd flash of quality, and that was just the first half, forget the second half. Its a funny old game, probably our worst performance of the season and we keep a clean sheet. You can see why Burnley don't score many they are woeful. £15mill for Chris Wood...What a great piece of business by the club.

Goalies always draw a foul with any contact from the attackers nowadays, so I'd have been surprised if a FK wasn't awarded, they are well protected.

Yes, we had a few against us the start of the season, today and the Newcastle non penalty have evened those up.

I agree that Harrison would probably make a decent left back. I saw him play there in his one U23 game this year which makes it clear that Bielsa sees him as an option. But I think for now, it's only as an emergency back up. What makes everyone think he shouldn't be on the wing? His dribbling and ball control are top class. And while his end product gets knocked a lot, he's created more chances for us than anyone else.

I would prefer us to sign a proper LB next summer

Apparently Leeds had massive downpours over the weekend

Struijk was solid today. He didn't contribute much (barely had any touches), but he didn't make any mistakes, either and was solid along the back. Just what we needed from him.

Struijk won 4 aerial duels & made 4 headed clearances, not one of our defenders won a header v Chelsea. Kalvin & Pascal made a massive impact & difference at the back.

I can't recall us defending so many corners efficiently

Needs replacing, three years past it'shelf life but no time to do it this summer.

Don't get me wrong. By "didn't contribute much" I meant going forward. Defensively, Struijk was very solid today, and "very solid" is a significant improvement over what we've been getting of late.
