Unconvinced mate, didn't win a single header at Chelsea & has lost his man is a few games this season, Coops is decent on the ground when playing out the ball. Personally think his days are numbered this time, I'd love to be proved wrong though, as I've posted previously there was a very good reason why we spent £30m on CB's in the summer

Fikayo Tomori
Great talent imo, actually did ok at Prem level to, but Lampard is a fraud who dropped him for expensive signings.
Wouldn't want a loan without an option to buy, otherwise we are just doing Lampard's job for him.
But yes if we could get a good price id be happy to buy Tomori.
Ben White
Ben White is a lesson imo, don't overrate our players, take them out of Bielsa's system and you see the difference (its concerning for the future).
We made the right choice, White isn't worth £30mil and is now just another average Prem cb struggling with the step up.
If Brighton would sell him for £10-15mil then he would be a decent investment, but they wont so move on.
Julian Draxler
Class talent but injury prone, no from me.

The only business I think we will do is if something unexpected comes up.
Ben White, I cant help but thinking that Brighton missed the boat with White and if they go down he will have a release clause in his contract, we could pick him up then.
Our starting lineup next season...
3-3-3-1
Messlier
Davis
Koch
White
LLorente
Ayling
KP
Harrison
Rodrigo de Paul
Raphinha
Rodrigo
Nothing would get past that lot.

Can’t see Bielsa playing that system but that would be some team Ian!

Ben white has been playing rb for Brighton and he's not a right back so you can't really judge him on that. We won't buy him now anyway as we already have three cbs plus struijk and then Berardi to come back as well.
Tomori would be good cover but wouldn't really be needed if Llorente and Koch are back second half of the season (can't remember how long Koch is out for)

Rodrigo isn't an out and out striker and so won't ever play there unless paddy gets injured.Irish Ian wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 2:19 pmCant see any CBs coming in. I'd also take Dallas over Davis any day - nothing to suggest Davis is going to be good enough for the first team let alone the prem

That was my starting 11 for next season.
Rodrigo is a CF Dan he plays there for Spain , as for Davis, according to the Leeds players he is the best LB prospect we have, perhaps if we get enough points on the board we may see him and a few others breakthrough.

I'd be surprised if we see much of Koch by seasons end, and I don't think we'll see Berardi at all. Cooper/Llorente/Ayling/Struik/Cresswell is the CB depth basically RoS, the first two injured for a bit longer, we'd all prefer to see Ayling at RWB.

Yep, sure Orta/MB had already expected we would stay up and are recruiting for long-term progression, which will inevitably mean sorting the wheat from the chaff in our squad.1964white wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:53 pm Unconvinced mate, didn't win a single header at Chelsea & has lost his man is a few games this season, Coops is decent on the ground when playing out the ball. A Championship squad, which has done very well in the PL so far, will need to be overhauled and improved as we look to progress in the Prem and other competitions, good times ahead, and sentimentality is not part of that equation.

I would slightly disagree on Ben White Cjay. He's committed to BHA long-term which has secured himself financially, but career wise that's a major error. He's now stuck playing out of position, in a poor side, for an average coach. They've struggled the last two seasons so he was very poorly advised there.
If he came back to us he'd pick up where he left off. But only for less than 20 million and only if MB wants him. think the ship has probably sailed as there are lots of better options in Europe if we're gonna spend 30/40 million on a CB.

Think they projected March for Koch, by the time he gets fit and has a few under 23 matches he's hardly gonna kick a ball this season. Imo we should not rush him back and have him breakdown as long term that could be disastrous for him and us.danhirons wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 2:58 pm Ben white has been playing rb for Brighton and he's not a right back so you can't really judge him on that. Consider how much more defending he'd be doing this season? He was a silky cb but he never really had to do much defending last season. Not to hard to look a quality defender when you are rarely defending after all.
As you say Brighton dont suit him but defending is defending and he hasnt looked up to it at this level so far.
Grateful for what he did for us last season but as you say, far better options out there

That's true, maybe the step up in class is too much for him.Cjay wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:24 pm Could be right mate, not sure whether he would or not.

The lads are making sure Mesliers hands don't get cold, so BW would also get plenty to do in our team this season.
I'm happy with the two we brought in technically, but their injuries are concerning. Especially Llorente who we've hardly seen.

Llorente is a concern for the obvious reason but calls into question the thought process.White Riot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:48 pm That's true, maybe the step up in class is too much for him.

We spent most of the summer trying to sign a highly rated but inexperienced left footed 18 year old cb who could also play lb.
We ended up with a 27 year old right footed cb who any report you read states he can not play left side and he is injury prone.
What concerns me to is the general joy fans of his old club expressed on twitter when he left, that always worries me.
He may come good and glad we didnt let Brighton have our pants down but how do you go from Gvardiol to Llorente, they arent similar?
Also come to think of it how do you go from Cuisance to Raphinha?
Do we not have a template of what we want ?

Yeah, that's a weird chain of thought. Maybe Orta was looking through the wrong end of his binoculars, or still pissed from the promotion partiesCjay wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:56 pm Llorente is a concern for the obvious reason but calls into question the thought process.

VO: Must recruit a LCB/LB, must recruit a LCB/LB, must recruit a LCB/LB
El Agento: Hey Victor there's a Spanish international RCB for sale!
VO: Oooh really
EL Agento: He's an established international, screams like a little lass when he's tackled, and the Real Sociedad Ultras have offered to shove him here in a wheel-barrow.
VO: Perfect, have you got his el numero and I'll get him on board.
VO after Chelsea: Puta madre
Just havin a laugh happy clappers
I still think Llorente will get fit and prove himself to be a real un for us.
But yes, when you think we already had got Koch and have Ayling as our permanent RCB/cover
Cooper at LCB whose injury prone and unproven at the top level, in the summer.
Leif Davis, who MB supposedly sees as a LCB, but won't play him there or in his natural position of LB.
Struijk, who was unproven in the first team, never mind PL, so was cover/permanent LCB.
Barry injured in the warm up Douglas, who was a flop and a half, and thankfully found his true level with Mowbray and Blackburn
Along with other areas that backline needs sorted out in the summer.

what the latest with lorrente now, did he drop a paper weight on his foot or something. cant seem to see him doing 90 mins and lasting for us
