I can't bear another Rochdale/Sutton/Newport/Hull shock result

There will be some extreme shouting at the TV if we bollox this game up, some of our fans will still make excuses/reasons for us should we get beat by a League 2 club :x

I was one of the unlucky fans at the abysmal Rochdale & Sutton games, I ducked out of the Newport cup-tie as I couldn't face another embarrassing defeat. A sheer waste of time, effort & great amount of expense.

If my beloved football club can't be bothered to turn up then why should I is my new policy with cup games

Both painful matches 64, I remember MCD going over to the Leeds fans at the end of the match against the mighty Dale and getting told to f**k off, so he did
Think the Newport match was the end of TC's reign, after Radz had advised him to rotate over Xmas and he didn't and we had bad results capped off by Newport and Saiz getting red carded and banned for spitting - clown

I'm preparing myself now 64, and then the shock won't be as bad. If we get a result then great

Crawley's not too far away from London btw, and you know what that means

I've heard that Cooper could be fit and playing, which is a bonus, but no word on Llorente.

Expect it'll be a mixture of fringe first teamers and kids like the Hull EFL Cup match, and you know how well that went

I don't think we'll take this comp seriously for a number of years and even then the priority will be the League and Europe above the FA Cup. Not saying that's correct just what I expect.

Remember the days back in the 70's when we put out our strongest line-ups v Sutton/Mansfield/etc when Bremner & Co use to play 60 matches a season on dreadful muddy pitches & the majority of our cup games were an enjoyable watch :-D

Yes, I do mate.
Also with tiny squads as well. Mostly remember the cup finals against Chelsea and Sunderland, which were both heartbreaking.
The exultation of beating Arsenal.
The devastation of Colchester is forever seared into my mind.
FA Cup was great then and every club respected it.
I still maintain that after Scum withdrew to play in that World Club competition they should have been banned for eternity from the FA Cup.

I remember Newcastle v Hereford had umpteen replays and postponements.

I had a flick book from The Daily Mirror with Ronnie Radford's goal

Isn't that a famous quiz question - When and against who was the only occasion that famous XI played ?
