Anyway, I've decided to delete my account on here - I've had enough. Could you organise that please.

Sorry to see you go Chapel, I don't agree with a lot of what you say but I don't think you're wrong to say it. It's usually well thought out and presented which is all I ask. I hate cliche writing and knee jerkism and you fall into neither.

Let's hope for his sake he doesn't get thrown into the starting line up because you'll be asking for him to be sold as soon as he makes a mistake!CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 9:12 am Maybe this article explains why I think he is worth giving a chance ; https://focusonleeds.com/2020/02/04/cha ... formances/
Not saying he won't necessarily be one for the future - let's hope he is!
But he's only just become a regular for the u23s...he's almost 4 years younger than Ben white when he joined us last season and that was in the championship. You don't throw players into a premiership team on the back of a couple of decent u23 performances. He will need to be sent out on loan for at least a few seasons, get used to the senior game, then maybe when he's 21/22 he can come back and stake a claim for the first team.
There are so so so few 18 year old cbs playing first team football. Physically he's probably not going to be fully developed for a number of years still.
and that's not to mention all the things coops has done for us in getting us promoted last year and he's the captain...Not only would it destroy coops morale but it would probably confuse the entire rest of the team!

Anyway you're fully entitled to your opinion (which I obviously don't agree with) but think that's sometimes what makes a forum interesting and would be a shame to see anyone leave so hope you stay

Some naff defending let us down but Everton are a side of very good players with an excellent manager. Our second half onslaught should've yielded something but it didn't - that's football for ya.
Nothing more to be said. Frankly, knowing that we're more than good enough to stay up by now is enough for me personally to let these results slide. It feels like it did in the old days, no fear of relegation but plenty of hope in getting something out of every game. If we don't then so long as the performance isn't completely shameful then shrug and move on.
Of course, if we were Chelsea spending tens upon tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, then my expectations would be suitably adjusted.

Cresswell is not good enough to supplant Cooper or Struijk at the moment. Nor should he as we need continuity there but I think given the proper chances he could become a very very good CB. If needed I don't think he'd let us down..I don't think he's the answer if you're expecting a massive defensive improvement off the bat

Massive improvement in defence?
Be careful what you wish for.

Re: Leeds United v Everton Match Thread - Bamford & Raphinha Start
Imo the style, the man for man, its going to have downsides and defending is one.
To correct it we need better players who will lose the ball less, anticipate better, read the game better etc.
That takes time and money.
We play an elite style with players who even the boss has said basically have to play above themselves to compete.
We are overarching as the spending table says, we have the 17th most expensive squad in the league and last nights was missing £60mil worth of player.
We have many players who are probably not good enough, doesnt mean they dont try hard but they havent got the natural talent of many in the league, therefore they have to run twice as much and whatever, as they do.
I will always be grateful to the players who returned us to the league (even though i have complained about most of them at some point) but i hope in time to see us back in Europe and id like to see us win a major trophy, i wasnt old enough to remember the league title Wilko won.
So to achieve that aim we will need more talented players (like Raph) and many of our Championship winners (quite a few who are pushing 30 anyway ) will need to be phased out.
Its a process, it takes time and i think we all get that.
Doesn't make it any less frustrating as a fan to watch us lose and concede sloppy goals, and yesterday was very sloppy.
Ayling took responsibility incidentally for the 2nd goal.

Please don’t go Chapel.
I’m sure most people on here respect your opinion I certainly do, not to say I always agree with you, sometimes I do sometimes I don’t, but debate and opposing views are what forums are about. Just take a breather mate and reconsider (and anyway I don’t want to lose an ally on the old Orta debate)

Re: Leeds United v Everton Match Thread - Bamford & Raphinha Start
Interestingly if that had been against us at the other end I'd have said no penalty. When did we adopt this bloddy stupid idea players have to jump with their arms by their side. Go out into you garden now and run jump as high as you can ..You'll bring your arms up, it's instinct. In Aylings case that's what he was doing in an attempt to head the ball which he missed by a gnats bollock and then it hits his arm
Never a pen.. Now the one with Klich where it was hand to ball from last week I think, that was a pen. Hands bought together then up to meet the ball.

I'll second that
I would like to see you stay Chapel.
You always make valid points and the forum will be worse off without you.
Just have a chillax and then see if your opinion changes.
Will be sad to see you go, but it's up to you of course.
Take care mate
