Re: Wolves v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Roberts in for Alioski, Llorente makes the bench
I felt we played well and that many are being harsh here tonight. Considering how badly we have wobbled without Philips, this was solid if not inspiring. We still created numerous chances but had no luck. It does happen that no matter what you do you’re not going to score.
We’ve gone from posing absolutely no threat at set pieces to looking like we should score from every ball into the box. Raphinha’s crosses are exceptional. On the other side, Wolves had no decent chance in our box in 90 minutes. Meslier and Struijk looked like a players that are really developing. I’m not a fan of Roberts but he did well and worked his socks off. Costa and Pablo did well when they came on, in spite of a shocking miss by Costa after showing stunning control to create the chance.
Sickening to lose two games against them to two own goals. However that performance shows we’re growing into this league. We are getting to a place that we are less naive and less dependent on any one player now.Frustrated over the loss but genuinely pleased with the performance. We do still need too many chances to score but that has been the case since Bielsa took over.
Just unlucky tonight.

Does that mean misplaced? He was crap again, heavy touches, overhit passes, 3 shots none on target , flattered to deceive as usual.

On a plus note, it was good to see Pablo back on the pitch.

Yep.

Just watched the Tyler Roberts interview, sorry Faaip, he looks like in his head he’s floating along beautifully and the 3 points don’t really matter.
I just can’t see him ever offering a 15-20 per season return, he just doesn’t seem to care enough about not scoring, or winning.
I’ve always thought there was a player in there by the way, but he just doesn’t look gutted at all about losing.

The rules of the game have been made to suit cheating bastards.
Then the better you cheat the more your worth goes up (including Ayling). Then the commentators support it with terms like "he earned the right to go down" and "good game management". The size of Traore and one hand against him and he goes down there's a snipper in the ground.
Funny they had two defenders injuried in the last few minutes and they get the ball back after being headed out FFS.
So gutted by that result tonight.
Will think about the positives when I calm down.

Short pass where you have to stretch to get it, your legs not in a great position, opposition comes in makes heavy contact, because he's got a chance of getting a ball he shouldn't have had any chance of getting, broken leg or at best you're off for the game.

We are used to watching grown men play the game not the jokers who pull on a shirt these days. I watch RL and the differences are shocking.

With Phillips this year we have had a 50% win rate - without him 17 % - nuff said, except that we just can't control the midfield without him.

Don't understand why football can't do the same as rugby..... Stop the clock. No point players feigning injury for one thing. Any player taking the piss during throw ins or goal kicks get an instant yellow.
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Lots of discussion etc which is good and gives us a pastime but the bottom line (which is undeniable ) is if you don't put your chances away you ain't gonna win.....and we didn't !! But we have nearly done enough to stay up so that's good.
