I'm not saying he's a world beater but I don't think he deserves the stick he gets from here. He does his best which I agree isn't going to cut it at this level but he's a trier and surely that deserves a pat on the back. He'll probably get moved on this summer and I wish him all the best wherever he goes.

The lad isnt technically good enough to play dm, he lacks the positional sense, the control, it doesnt work.
Llorente should have played in that position - he has the experience to play there. I don't give a hoot whether it's two left footed CBs playing together if it means Struijk not playing in DMF.

Some lovely passing first half. That lovely crossfield chip for one. He did get frustrated second half as he seemed to get little help and was constantly getting niggled by the Villa players ..OK missed his chances but the forum forgave Bamford's missed 1000 chances last season why not Tyler.

Tyler did no worse than anyone else. He looks forward and tries to progress the ball. I wish he'd stick one of his chances away and he dwells on it a bit to much sometimes but I'm not sure he deserves the stick he gets.

God knows Cjay

I'm still scratching my head over the that positional change

I did question whether Costa should start as I know what the big girls blouse gives us generally

Roberts was on the pitch far too long....70 minutes too long imo!

Llorente was ok today, I was disgusted with that bit of play acting and he almost got caught in possession several times plus Villa posed almost zero threat after the goal. Nowhere near MOTM for me. Cooper however was a lot better on the ball and bringing it out of defence

Agree totally CJay.....its puzzling why Bielsa persists in thinking Struijk is anything but a central defender, when will he realise when its so obvious to everyone else.....Aaaaaaargh !

It's unfair to keep putting him in that position. He's done well at CB, so why keep knocking his confidence?

Obvious, that we need Phillips, Koch and Rodrigo back and need to do some good recruitment in the summer.

Some of our players that will be discarded can't say they haven't been given a chance at PL level.

Outside of Klich probably the best player on the park for us first half

All Stats Aren't We not a fan of him playing there...

I'd prefer him playing there to be honest though, I think he moves the ball quicker and with more accuracy that Pascal.

Seen Klich taking plenty of stick again too, despite having to do twice as much work today because Struijk isn't a DCM.

Don’t hold your breath, look how long he’s been trying to turn Roberts into a goalscorer.

Dull as dish water that.
Last 30 minutes just like Wolves game, with time wasting plus a worse referee.
Didn't like the Llorente drama queen work, even if he does look like a class CB.
I was starting to think Roberts and Costa were both beginning to improve but under it all they are both just soft lads I think, a bit that MB probably can't improve.
But hey-ho we are still in a great position in this league.

Anyway, as off it as we were today Villa got their tactics against us spot on.

It's not always about how 's**t' our players are, sometimes we have to give the opposition credit. Even if we don't like their style of football!

Yeah, I fully expected to see Llorente at DCM tonight, or a back three of Llorente, Struijk and Cooper. But what do I know?

What a dire game with the result not entirely surprising, considering the team we had out there. As for Robert's, he must be MB's love child or he loves a man bun. Really unsure as the why he doesn't give Gelhardt a run out, surely he couldn't do any worse.

Thankfully he abandoned Harrison at CF after the Crawley abortion :)

I thought he had an okay first half (should have scored) but was poor in the second.

Don't see what they did that was so great tbh. Got a lucky break with the goal then stuck ten men behind the ball.
