St Helens; Leigh; Wigin; Warrington ... sorry, wrong thread.
So that will be Scum, Celtic, Villa, Chelscum, and strangely I desperately want to hate Burnley but I really can’t be bothered.

It's neither hate nor dislike for me, but a fondness for Leeds United football club.
In my younger days I relished those West Yorkshire derbies and Bradford City was the one I most anticipated. After that one it was away games at Huddersfield as well as Sheffield and Barnsley. Those were the days.

I dislike a few clubs
Scum,
Liverpool,
Villa,
Chelski,
Blunts,
Celtic.
But I really can't stand Spurts worst sort of fans ever, everywhere when they win, ghosts when they f**king lose.

Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Think that's a bit harsh on City and their fans. Prior to the investment City were always getting decent attendances at Maine Rd even when they dropped to League 1. It looks worse now as they obviously moved to a much bigger stadium so there are empty seats. City were the more working class man's club and as such with the cost of tickets now it is harder for City to fill the ground. Contrast that to the other team in Manchester and they have a lot more non- local fans where money isn't the same issue.
The way some people talk about City, or even Chelsea before them it is like other clubs weren't spending their way to success before them. The likes of Liverpool and then MU were constantly breaking the transfer records. The key to their success was spending the big money but spending it well - that is the major difference now as MU have spent as much as City but have bought poorly whereas Man City do tend to make good signings.

I think that is it we don't see them as serious rivals. Quite often I have wanted those teams to do well but then when they have briefly overtaken us they have acted like complete a-holes. I would say the only real Yorkshire rival in terms of being a big club and having been in the top flight quite a lot is Sheff Wed. Even then though I don't think there is that much of a hatred. The only real continued hatred for me is MU. The other enemies come and go.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 5:37 pm
Funny none of the teams mentioned (other than Sara, with Sheffield Utd) are Yorkshire neighbours. Do you think if the likes of Wednesday, Bradford, Huddersfield, Barnsley were seen as serious rivals on the field.....or would the serious animosity still be retained for the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd ?![]()

It's not the spending, it's the nature of the investing. If some petro-billionaire stuck eye watering money into Wednesday or Burnley I'd say the same. It's as if they stuck a pin on a map and decided that the club didn't matter. Plus, Liverpool, ManU, none of them are up to their elbows in blood. Dodgy businessmen, even crooks, they've been around for years, but accusations of participating in a. genocide are a new level of depravity. I think Arkan had a club in Serbia back in the 90s.weasel wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:34 pm The way some people talk about City, or even Chelsea before them it is like other clubs weren't spending their way to success before them. The irony is that fans all over complain 'it's so boring seeing Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal' winning everything. I wish there was some new competition for them'weasel wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:34 pm Think that's a bit harsh on City and their fans. And then when the likes of Man City or Chelsea get money and become competitive against those three you get the 'I hate those teams, they are plastics, they aren't real teams with a history of challenging at the top'.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

I do get the Vila thing totally ............but I am from that area (Oldbury , nr West Bromwich) , not these days but my younger days were spent there . Most fans of other sides hate Villa most up there and others are just disliked . Guess it's a regional thing for me . Villa would be on my list but well below Chelsea .Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 5:37 pm Would also be Chelsea for me.
Also, although not because of any Leeds rivalry, Scunthorpe Utd for having taken a kicking there many years ago when following Lincoln City![]()

Don’t really get the Villa hate/dislike.
Wondered if the likes of Derby or Sunderland might get a shout.
I’m sure above all those mentioned however, that sits a certain team in Turkey though !

With Villa it's their management & players who try any means to gain an advantage of a game by diving, falling over at will & feigning injury. These traits have been going on ever since Smith arrived at Villa Park.Clacton White wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 6:30 am I do get the Vila thing totally ............but I am from that area (Oldbury , nr West Bromwich) , not these days but my younger days were spent there . i'm too young to appreciate the United hate and so I don't really hate them anymore than any other club if I'm honest...
More dislike the teams with incredibly annoying fans - the Liverpools of this world etc.

Scum have got to be up there if only because their fans insistence on having a monopoly on the term 'United'.
Others mentioned hold a special place of loathing too.
Villa (although always used to have an admiration for them)
Chelsea
Derby
Forest
Brentford (Think im still sour about them derailing our first promotion bid).
Spurs
Liverpool (again always used to quite like them but the holier than thou over recent seasons has gotten to me).

Re: So...do you hate Scum most of all?
Yes Scum for me for a similar reason as Rat, in that they are undoubtedly the darlings of the English football establishment and the MSM media and can seem to do no wrong in their eyes and always receive advantageous treatment from referees etc, as a result. And being their one of their main traditional rivals (before our hiatus), and not being another establishment darling like Liverpool, we always seem to get the opposite treatment.
Don’t like London clubs generally especially Chelsea so they would have to be 2nd on my list. Having said that I’ve always had a slight (very slight) soft spot for Arsenal.
In at 3rd on my list these days, since all that ridiculous Spygate nonsense, is Derby. It would be great to see them relegated this year especially with that hapless, no-hoper Rooney in charge. That, for me, would square the Kama circle beautifully!

I don’t hate any football clubs. I’ve never really understood that concept. Rivalry, yes. Hate, no.
There are people in football I hate, but even then only in a football sense. The most recent addition to that list for me was Lampard. But there are others.
