Stunning line up, brought a lump I can tell you. King Albert on that left wing, what a player.

Greatly underrated OB... he was a joy to watch, and his crosses were pin point accurate to the heads of the big boys... John Charles, Jackie Charlton etc ... Such a sad ending to his life ...Orange Box wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 8:24 pm Stunning line up, brought a lump I can tell you. King Albert on that left wing, what a player.

Had the pleasure of watching Albert in his number 11 shirt bombing down the left wingSmudge3920 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 4:00 am Greatly underrated OB... he was a joy to watch, and his crosses were pin point accurate to the heads of the big boys... Re: Don Revie's Heaven XI
You could add Don Weston, Jim Storrie & Terry Hibbitt to the benchYorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 8:10 pm Quite some team the Don has got up there now...

Re: Don Revie's Heaven XI
I’ll be the first to be a complete d:ck and make a tweak to the line up. Swap Madeley and Lorimer around. Pete goes back to his normal position and Paul could play CF easily.
Mind you, in heaven I guess everyone can play every where.
Great post YS.

Given my relatively young age these guys are all figures of myth and legend, one of my biggest regrets is not being around to see them at the time. Historical footage can only show you so much.

The Don only had one! And if I recall they could only be used to cover injury. What a different game from today.

Coaches use subs as a time-wasting exercise to kill off a game. As a fan I dread the last ten minutes feeling cheated in so many games.
