bielsa says he liked how Koch played says he was dynamic, willing & committed.
Starting to think he’s had a bad bang on the head over the summer.

I had high hopes of getting an RDP, or Nandez, and a winger like Lang. Seems like we're just strengthening the under 18s. This is the result of spending 18 million squid to try and get JKA down to Weightwatchers and off the pies

Which means we're less attractive to potential signings, we actually sign moderate players and the the rot sets in. I know it's just 1 game in but on the back of a crap pre season of bad results it's another game without a win which is badly needed next time out. Another thumping and alarm bells will already be ringing.SG90 wrote:I think 9th is a tall ask, unless we get a couple more in. More like 13/14th tbh. Which is probably a true reflection of where we are.

Like a relentless tide rolling in, so did ManU with their attacks. Clinging onto the hope that Cooper and co might just learn how to tighten up at the back, I settled for half the amount conceded last season. My hopes were dashed by a Red tide as it rolled in with Portuguese precision.
Ayling's goal was superb and is the only positive moment for Leeds. Phillips and Llorente will be back, Firpo will settle into his role and then we shall watch as a new tide rolls in and behold, white horses on surf boards lol!

Fair dos Dave, but why play no midfield against Scumchester?Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 1:45 pm The thing to bear in mind Riot is that we’re in the Premiership and still swinging. We aren’t going to win every game, so we need to pick our battles.

I was deeply concerned about this season for reasons i have said before.
Cycle of the Championship team being at an end.
Second season.
Absolutely deluded faith in the squad that the club seem to have
Really poor recruitment.
You can say we never had a chance because of the difference in quality but we have done nothing this summer to try and close that gap.
The result is one thing but the performance was awful and that is the most concerning part.
It followed the patern of pre season.

Radz and Orta need to get two quality midfielders in before the window shuts.
Bielsa also needs to apologize for this s**t show and give himself a fooking good shake.

As brilliant as Bielsa is, when we are playing against a team who are at the same level as us, or better than us, we must change our tactics accordingly!

Well that was painful!
I can’t understand why Phillips wasn’t playing, if he is injured (which I don’t think he is) why have him on the bench? If he’s not injured then you have to play him
Missed Llorente badly as well but, to be honest, even if Phillips and Llorente were playing I think we’d have still lost, they were head and shoulders above us in every department.
Already a must win game against Everton, can’t afford to get too far behind even at this stage of the season or we’ll never be able to catch up a la Sheffield United last year.
Not much more to say about that really other than a superb goal by Ayling who was one of the few players who deserved better than a 5-1 defeat.
Oh and the Referee was good 7.5/10 for him (would have been 8 had he given us the penalty towards the end
). Roberts dive was too theatrical and not even sure Maguire actually touched him anyway, so he probably got that one right as well.

Plenty of fans want to stay loyal to those players that got us promoted come what may. It’s bonkers to me, we got lucky with fans not been in stadiums last year as evidenced by our away form. Needed significant money this year to push on and build a proper premer league team. Haven’t bothered and as usual all the stadium expansion plans and grand schemes will end up in the bin as we gamble with a tumble towards the vacuum of the championship this time without bielsa.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 1:53 pm I was deeply concerned about this season for reasons i have said before.

Don't think MB give a s**t about our rivalry with Scum or getting hammered by Crawley Town.
What he is looking at is has Phillips hit the fitness figures to start the game. For him it's all about stats, systems and a season long perspective.
Good time to put a tenner on making a European place.
I think with their debt ridden signings Pogba must think they have a chance of winning the league for him to give a sh**e on the first game of the season.
With Harrison and Rapha having poor days Paddy didn't stand a chance.
What the f**k is Firpo doing running around the area with his hands behind his back rather than getting a block in.
With Llorente and Phillips back in we will be a different proposition.
Still mightily depressed about today's result.

It will the first time that a full ER gets to judge this team in the PL. if we were to go one, or even two behind, I think everyone at the club would be made to understand the fans concerns fairly quickly.
I would expect a reaction to this capitulation next week. A performance is a must, a win would settle nerves. Some movement on signings would also help to improve the atmosphere.
