Let's have a look in 10 games and make a proper assessment. Maybe you will all be right.
Most of our issues are self inflicted, there is a time and a place for pretty football and it ain't in our penalty box and surrounding area. It won't change though risk, reward. No reward today

Fwiw coming from a Hearts supporter, and Newcastle being my English team, watching you the last couple of seasons has been a joy, trust me you have it good with Marcelo, cut out the individual mistakes, and not tracking runners and the scoreline is different today, I feel you are being a bit harsh on you're club and manager, tell me how many teams go to Old Trafford? And have 51% possession, I've seen teams park the bus and get that exact same scoreline you got today, against that horrible lot, you had a go and failed big deal onto next week, you won't be anywhere near being relegated this season, far too good for that, and teams you play against won't be of the same calibre as man utd today, exciting times ahead for yous, keep the head

The team selections were quite baffling. But I look at it this way:
1. We have the same number of points as if we’d lost in the 94 min to a dubious penalty. The actual damage is no worse than that.
2. This is still the same squad that finished 10th last year. We know they will play much better than this.

I don't like the damage of a minus 4 goal difference thoughAussieleeds wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 9:56 pm The team selections were quite baffling. But I look at it this way:

Yep, sorry.
From what we read of MB, he’s not the type to stick around if he thinks management is not working with him. Either he’s happy with what we have, knows what’s incoming, or else knows that we absolutely can’t afford to upgrade.
Whereas the top sides can rotate players during the season, we need our first 11 to play virtually every game. Sure KP could have played today, but I’d rather see him miss a game now if he’s not 100% than miss a few later in the season and see us dropping points to lesser sides.
By now we are all used to the fact that MB is never one to play defensively with 11 against 11. Ironically, the score probably would have been closer if we’d had someone sent off at 1-1?

Let's not kid ourselves, we're still fledglings at this level so any points against the 'top six' are bonus pts. It's the games against the bottom half sides which are more important .

Excellent post Sir. Perspective is required people it is only one game. Get beat for 12 games like Sheff utd and then we can worry.

just looked at the league table and with a minus 4 goal difference we are at the bottom, so the only way is up.

Why did we go so gung ho?
We have shown we can be defensively solid and counter teams.
Why change that for this suicidal all for one attack press approach against far more talented players?
I dont get it i am still really annoyed at Bielsa for another humiliation at our rivals.
I dont subscribe to this Manure are a wonderful team we should accept it and move on.
If you match our energy then beating our gung ho approach for far more gifted players is easy.
Certain players pull wide moving their markers around and runners pour into the gaps, it isnt difficult, its not a tactical masterclass it is a very simple way to defeat a very risky strategy (their is a reason very few teams go man for man like we do).
However MB showed last season we can play differently, selective pressing, only press certain players in certain areas etc.
A far better system against £1billion teams, so why werent we doing thay yesterday?
Naive?
Stubborn?
Both?
5-1 and 6-2 against them is never acceptable

Re: Manchester United v Leeds United Match Thread - Dallas at left back, Koch in for Phillips
Took a day to get some perspective on this, stung too much in the immediate aftermath to post. We got humped by the scum, that sucks. I personally don't think it was a 5-1 game, but individual errors, especially in the 10 minutes after Ayling equalised, handed the initiative back to them and the game was gone. The reality is we have no-one like Pogba or Fernandes and we do desperately need an AMF, but the biggest issue was no KP in the side. Bielsa called that wrong, it was his f**k up, Koch is a decent CH but he will never be a DMF whilst his arse looks south. Neither is Rodrigo a midfielder. Now, whether he played Koch to highlight the lack of cover and force Radz and co back into the market, or he simply got it wrong, only MB knows. If Kalvin was fit for the bench, he was fit to start. Mightn't have changed the result, but I don't think we'd have been completely overrun in midfield. There were times Klich was doing the work of 3 men.
But, it is only one game, and we are no worse off than we were at the start of last season. Yes, the performance was worrying, but you know MB will work his nuts off to put it right. In PL terms, we are novices, we have to walk before we can run so this season, despite the deluded element of our fan base thinking top 6, is about consolidation, building a solid base and then trying to push on. Like it or not, the scum are in that wealthy elite with the resources to buy whomever they like. With no sugar daddy, we can't do that and have to rely on the shrewdness of Bielsa to level the field somewhat. He got it wrong yesterday, but he'll put it right.

I dont think KP was match fit. I cant see Bielsa leaving him out if he was ready to play.
We are allowed to name a 9 man bench, looking at the size of our squad who else could we name?

Oh and to add I doubt whether it mattered, ManU bettered us everywhere yesterday they were tactically superior . Harrison didn't who to track half the time as he was overrun on the left, Raph was left isolated on the right. The distribution was a disgrace and Bamford hardly got a touch.

The rumours are that KP was a few kg over the weight MB wants.
Sounds ludicrous but entirely believable that Bielsa would drop a player for that.
Far more likely than him not being fit imo, Richarlison played an Olympic final 1 week ago, he started for Everton.
Think quite simply MB's stubbornness regarding his fitness and weight requirements caught KP out and MB wont change his mind even if it costs the team?
