The lack of chances being created is a bit worrying.

The sending off killed the game for both teams. Liverpool have been flat since which as made us look slightly better with 10. That performance was like getting out of bed on the wrong side, slipping and cracking your head and everything else goes to sh*t for the rest of the day.

Ironically Strujik was the only player on show that resembled last season. Imo that performance could have been against Norwich and we would have struggled. The zip, the energy, the confidence.....I didn't see much of any. We need to find that spark again, but once we do we will be ok.

We really need a win in Friday. We struggled v a poor Burnley side as well, so it being Liverpool doesn't make a difference.

Absolutely piss poor that but Liverpool are a very good team and a loss was always on the cards the result was compounded by the suicidal way we have decided to start the season. Bielsa needs to open his eyes to some of this squad and realise their limitations when setting up the team. if he doesn't then this season is just going to snowball to relegation.

For those who say I told you so - it is still only the 4th game into the season. Yeah - it is evident that we are not at the same level as last year. Our midfield is poor - Dallas is not at the same level as last year. Klich is still recovering from COVID and Rodrigo is struggling to play the 10 role. But Liverpool are a quality team. Will see what happens against Newcastle.

Is it just me or does Raph look really peed off? Like he's had enough of carrying mediocre players.

Unfortunately MB seems quite delusional. It's like he can't accept that some of our players are passed their sell by date. Unfortunately I can't see us spending in January, and even then it would only be a panic buy. Just have to hope for 3 worse teams this year

There comes a time when you have to admit players have reached their peak and you move on from them. Pep did it, Fergie used to do it regularly. Klopp did not and failed miserably last year.

Well then he should be sold asap.

If he thinks Bamford, Phillips, Meslier and others are mediocre, he should be allowed move to a club where he can massage his ego.

But I think he can write off ManU and Liverpool type clubs coming in, because he's been mediocre himself against them.

Newcastle is vital now. Today's game is another confidence breaker , lose next week and it's totally shattering . Time to take a long hard look at your personnel and tactics MB ! A few more of these results and you will see the other side of those adorable fans.

Saint-Maximin & Almiron will be licking their lips with the thought of running our makeshift defence.

The man for man is a hindrance against the better sides.

The players are so obsessed with it that they make really poor footballing decisions in order to stick with the system.

So a player in a decent defensive position will move to follow his man even though it creates a defensive gap.

Its something MB has adapted before and really needs to again because it isnt just Liverpool and Manure who have exploited it, Burnley and Everton managed 29 shots vs us between them also.

The whole team looks slower, the passing sequences are that half a second off, everything is a bit off and teams are anticipating our passes faster and catching us out.

I still feel that we have not done enough to refresh the squad and the team looks tired.

He's coming up against players who are superior and know how to play him. All of a sudden he isn't that diamond we all thought he was.

Alioski was twice the player that Firpo is from what I've seen so far this season.
Firpo looks totally lost.

At least you knew what you'd get from Ali.

The real test is Newcastle. Lose that and I'm afraid to say we will be in a relegation battle.
We need to find a performance and some confidence from somewhere maybe Dan James can get us going with a spark of genius?
The players from last season look flat and out of sorts and from what I've seen of Firpo he isn't an upgrade on Alioski tbf

Did didnt it, Koch and Llorente were both out for ages and tbf until Llorente came back we conceded far to much.

Keep the head!! You will beat us on Friday, went down 2-0 but didn't give up and sending off was never a red card you will stay up trust me 👍.

You guys are great to watch.

Maybe need to be more defensive against the top 6 but if rodrigo takes his chance it's a very different game.

All the best Bongo1874 👍.

Out played by a much stronger, better team.
Having said that, we do look very ordinary so far this season.
The midfield is a shambles and has been in every game so far.
I don't know what to think about the red card. Pascal won the ball but because he was sliding (from behind) he ended up landing on Elliot's leg and unfortunately breaking it. A bit of a freak injury and the ref had determined that it wasn't a foul originally.
Bielsa is all about the system but I wonder if he would ever think about tweaking it and playing Bamford and Rodrigo as inter changing front men? Rodrigo is wasted in midfield and Bielsa will never drop Bamford.
Just as last year we have to beat the Newcastle, Norwich, Watford like teams in the league and hopefully pick up a few points against the top 10 teams.
A worrying start to the season.
