FFS, no other coach leaves their best players out after a three weeks injury. KP can't have lost his match-fitness in that period.

Remember when James joined there was talk of maybe Raph dropping into the middle?

I do think he and Rod have a great understanding. Without going in the Roberts issue again what he clearly lacks is the ability to make decisions quickly.

So here is my proposed 11 based on those three starting and the expectation that Joffy et all will be on the bench.

Just think how long Bamford & our injured players will have to convalescence when they are due to return.

I still believe Raphinha should have been on the bench last week for insurance purposes, surely he could have managed 20 minutes.

Am dreading this one already with KP missing.

I'm in agreement with some on here that I would like to see Raph play as #10 with Harrison and James as wingers. Rodrigo up top, Klich and Bate in midfield and then Shacks, Llorente, Struijk, Dallas as our backs. Sadly, not a chance in hell of that happening.

If it's just match fitness for Kalvin he'll be on the bench and play 30 minutes I'd have thought, if it's a niggly injury then an extra week or two is what all of us would be screaming for if he played and reinjured himself

If it's a hip injury then it could linger, that's just tough luck and it affects a players ability to play plus high likelihood it gets worse... We rushed Klich back too quickly or played him through the injury last season... and it really affected his performances. Struijk will improve with every appearance as DMF but we're venerable while he learns

Well this is a pessimist thread, and if I were sitting at home I’d feel the exact same but I’m just after traveling over to Leeds for this game - my first in quite a while - and I have to hope that the team will at least put in a decent performance.
There is little logic to support the hope for a real step up, or especially a win today with so many still missing, and especially Philips. However, last week was such a low that there has to be a reaction. Players’ attitudes and abilities are being questioned. Surely that alone would drive you to respond.
Wolves were awkward and lucky against us last season - just maybe we can turn the tables this time around. They are not that good.
Anyway, I have my lucky shirt and I’m just going to stay optimistic, even just for selfish reasons!
Can’t wait to get back into Elland Road later!!
