I agree there mountain, that's why I thought he would have put Gelhardt in that position instead of who ??????????
Once again, poor management.

Spot on  we miss Paddy terribly, an integral part of Bielsa'a team.

Another problem is, we only have one special dangerous attacking player, other teams around us have 3 or 4 influential type players, not only the top six clubs

I'm four rows up from the steward stood at the bottom.

What was the point of playing James & Harrison down the middle?

Didn't work.

Worse still was, we were bombing the ball in the air to Dan & Jack, absolutely pointless!

We have a star kid who would relish playing up top & is probably more proficient than those two in his natural position.

Also, when we are running the clock down in the last 15 minutes attempting to retain possession why do we play the ball back to our CB's who in turn passes it back to Meslier, who then boots the ball up field with the opposition winning the ball in the air & the ball coming back to us :( this is not Bielsa ball.

I think the confidence is lower than we all think. We are not clever in ball retention and shear anxiety pressurises them into hoofing the ball upfield. If they're like this in October/November what will they be like come March/April/May if we're still down there. They need a decent result against Leicester to help the confidence .

Just can't understand the logic with our play this season.

Over the last three seasons, it was all about press the opposition, hold the ball up top, pass & move the ball quickly, retain the ball, catch teams on the break, create many chances.

Now, I haven't got a clue about our game plan :duno:

We've resorted to hoof football, head tennis, sloppy passing, creating fewer chances & very rarely breaking from a defensive position to score goals.

In the main this season, teams are sitting further back against us in in two banks of four leaving two up, but those two aren’t pressing our centre backs but letting us have the ball.
Because of this, their two forwards have become midfielders to an extent and because we go man to man, when the opposition drop deep, their edge of the box is very congested so our centre backs look for an outlet that’s not always there.
When we do go longer to bypass this we lose possession more and if they clear the ball carefully, it goes to the two forward/midfielders who are deeper, who then attack us in a 2 v 3 situation which makes it look like we don’t have a midfield (we do, but they are further forwards which exposes our system)
The better teams have exploited this quick change over and scored a few ie Liverpool and scum.

Teams have worked us out a bit, better players have the measure of ours a bit more.

Our Championship core all in and around 30 regressing to a more natural level rather than being able to keep up 100% all the time.

What i mean by that is if Messi over the years is having a crap game he could still impact a game with 2 or 3 bright moments of talent and class but less gifted players cant so they have to be on it 100% or they struggle.

Lack of midfield doesnt help, many factors playing a part imo but the main issue is one highlighted in the summer, we needed an overhaul.

Now realise i havent actually answered the question

I would say lack of confidence.
Teams working us out more and forcing js to change approach.
A lack of quality in midfield.
Fans back putting pressure on
