I praised Roberts for his off the ball play making him the most suited player we have for the midfield hybrid role MB likes.

Today he was awful at that, forget on the ball, off the ball today he was appalling, Rodri ran off him so often and even Fernandinho did and he is 84.

He has gotten great praise recently but because I had praised that side of his game I wanted to say this.

Though Gelhard's hold up play 2nd half was the only real high spot offensively, he gave us an outlet (or rather tried).

I’m going to have to crawl out from under my stone to comment on that. Two moments in that game stood out for me. 55 minutes and Leeds were attacking -yes really- Citeh instantly lined up in tight 4-4-2 and gave us nowhere to go. They didn’t have to lunge in to tackle, they just kept their shape and snuffed us out.
80 minutes and they moved forwards and we looked like a chess board with two three year olds playing. We were all over the shop.
For me that was a masterclass by the pupil over the master. Pep blew Marcelo out of the water. I wont fault any of players, they stuck to MBs plan rigidly and we paid the price.
I buy the injuries issue, but that is why clubs have strength in depth. I’m fed up of listening to “Bielsa likes to run with a small squad”, it’s the reason we are where we are now.
Marcelo has run his race at Leeds I’m afraid, he is obviously a man of integrity, so he should now do the decent thing and move on.

Rab - It wasn’t the RB tracking Foden it was Llorente - I highlighted that hole at half time. Man to man is great if the players match up. They just pulled us all over the place and exploited the numerous spaces left. But that is what class intelligent players can do to our system. Unfortunately This City side has 8 or 9 outfield players with that ability. Arsenal is still a winnable game but right now we have no capacity to change the team unless we fill the team with kids. Chastening defeat but calling for Marcelo’s head is madness.

I won't argue with you all I saw was orange boots straying out from right back into the centre of the field following a City player.

It was obvious that the players were following instructions but the game plan did not contain City, instead they were able to exploit it.

Bitter pill to swallow... but still I would like to praise the Victors rather than scorn the vanquished. But that is just me... helps me to sleep easy... I can do without any turmoil in my life.

I’m sad to say but I think this might be the end of the line for Marcelo, I desperately don’t want to see him go but this can’t go on.

Admittedly Manchester City have better players than us and Phillips and Bamford are out but that is no excuse for tonight’s 7-0 fiasco. They have better players than just about every other team in the league and yet we provided them with the easiest game they’ve had for years, if not ever. Other teams in the Premier League, despite having inferior players, at least give them a game by being tactically more pragmatic. We were sitting ducks tonight all the way through and it never looked like changing for 90 minutes.

It was painful to watch, in fact I decided to put our Christmas tree up halfway through the game just for a bit of respite and so, thankfully, missed a good portion of the 2nd half.

Recently got back in from game, only 40 minutes away, easy to get a ticket at city, they simply can't sell them, pathetic plastic fans.

Can't knock Meslier, but the rest of the starting 11 were dreadful, our goal difference will probably be a minus at the season end at this rate, dunno if Bielsa will stay, don't know if he'll get sacked, lets face it, this is sacking material, only becAUse he has plenty in the bank he's still anywhere near ER.
How long will this be able to continue !!! getting hammered by scum, livarpool , chelsea and city on a regular basis is NOT, repeat NOT to be expected everytime we lake them, we have learnt absolutely NOTHING, in our past pastings, NOTHING.
