Nice to see the u23s.

It's blatantly obvious we overrate most of them, Greenwood, Drameh, Bate aren't ready, Hjelde did OK.

Lack of quality is obvious and even with a fully fit squad as we had vs Newcastle earlier this season its still clear.

VAR robbed us and Wet Spam.do love a dive but they had more quality overall.

I think Summerville should be persisted with on a regular basis. I would like to see more of him. He is certainly no less a threat than Harrison or James. He is more dangerous on the ball IMO and is better at one on one.

Considering the team we put out today I thought we did well. Not fussed with the result and we never looked like scoring but I thought the youngsters did well plus it's a bit more experience for them. Hopefully next week with more first teamers back we can take it up a gear and beat them. I just wish we could pick up more second/loose balls. We always seem to be second to every loose ball in midfield. Mind you, this has been a season long problem. Onwards and upwards!

Yes good observation we never do seem to pick up the loose balls in midfield, it’s been a feature all season and that puts our defence continually under pressure.

Not me. I said Gelhardt and Cresswell were the standouts, and I think Bate is up there with them.

Greenwood has played more than I thought he would tbh. But these u23s signings are just proving a waste of money. I see Gelhardt as a first team signing anyway, not someone bought to play u23s.

I'd rather the u23s were full of academy products anyway.

It's a strange situation.

Bielsa clearly doesn't rate most of them hence why he prefers to play Square pegs until it is literally impossible to do any more and he has to.

But yet Bielsa chooses to go with a squad of 18 first teamers which means 1 injury and you have to use an u23 even just on the bench.

One possible explaination is MB hasn't adapted his methods enough for the modern game.

Smaller squads were common when MB started out so you could get away with a small first team squad and use a few u23s if desperate. But with the intensity of the matches with the increase in matches a larger squad is needed now and that is something Bielsa hasn't adapted instead choosing to stick with methods he used 30 years ago which meant he could use u23s very rarely

That for me is one explanation.

Bit unlucky today but that’s how it seems to go against West Ham, their first goal shouldn’t have stood and I think we should of had a penalty for handball. Fact of the matter is though we have been toothless going forwards, without bamford we have no one with the intelligence to move opposition defences apart or make decent runs in to the box. We must be looking for a backup striker and an attacking midfielder in this window.

Yes I said in the summer we need to move on from the sentiment. They had their chance in the PL last season. We can't cling onto winning the Championship forever, or are we admitting we're a small club then?
