Here we have it.

You will hear Kinnear and Radz pushing this line soon.

Faith in our almost relegated u23s . . Absolute nonsense was that the reason.

The Aaronson thing seemed like something to placate the fans.

Salzburg have been adamant all window he wouldn't leave.

Rumours of huge issues at boardroom level linked to funding this window ( we didn't have any and 1 Radz can't afford to fund it and has never been one for funding the club without selling bits of it off to the other owner who would only invest if he did just that).

And I also think that Bielsa time here is coming to a natural end (tin hat on).

Very disappointing and risky window, if it goes wrong and it could the entire Bielsa era will amount to nothing and we end up back in the Championship
Agreed. How many transfer windows have we needed a midfielder for now? 4? 5?.......I also think it's a big gamble not getting a goalscorer in. Bamford doesn't show signs of being back any time soon......it's OK if we stay up (which we really should) but if things go tits and we slip back out of the top flight after doing nothing this window it will look like a f-ing disaster. It also wouldn't be the first time that not investing in the January window has cost us.

Another exciting window passes us by. Across the world transfer market, we clearly couldn't find anyone better than Klich, Forshaw, Rodrigo, James (upfront), Koch (playing in midfield) and Roberts. It's the end game for Radz, big gamble, but he'll selling up for a tidy profit if we're still in this league. Hopefully the other two stooges f**k off with him.

The U23s would have likely been doing a lot better if none of them had been featuring for the first team and all were available to play for the full 90 minutes every match. Hopefully we will do enough to stay in the top U23 league though and hopefully the U18s that have featured for the U23 side this season will have been improving too.

But that's the policy of Bielsa.

He pulls the u23s out of the u23 squad because he wants a small squad that can't cope with a small injury crisis never mind a big one, so effectively Bielsa has managed to impact 3 different age groups with his methods this season.

Tbh I don't think we would be doing much better, people forget we regularly used first team players with the u23s last season and that helped us get promoted.

Therefore it was hard to gauge just how good the u23s were, nobody knows if we would have got promoted without KP and Cooper and Llorente and Pablo and Raph and Rodders etc dropping in a few times a season each, it was rare for an u23 side to play without a few first teamers and frankly if everyone did that who knows if we would have won promotion.

I read the seniors had 20 goal contributions for the u23s between them, that is a significant amount and whilst we will never know , it is undeniably enough to make the difference.

So it may just be that our u23s on there own weren't quite as good as we hoped?

We will never know now.

Would it help if Gelhardt and Co could be more involved? Probably.

Would it likely be that we would be significantly better of? I doubt it, expecting a bit much for a newly promoted u23 side that had substantial help from the senior side to earn promotion.

Something the club would never ever mention of course when Kinnear gives his spin.

Sorry grumpy Cjay tonight

Good lord is there anything you won't find as a reason to have a go at. Yes the U23s are sufferring as aresult of Bielsa using them but that is a good thing and ultimately the role of the U23s is to produce first team players not win U23 cups or leagues etc. The only real benefit of the U23s doing well in terms of league placings is that we are playing better teams and have the category 1 academt status.

I would also say the established players dropping into the U23s would have been more of a hindrance than a bonus as they were only going in to get fit after injury so they wouldn't have been playing at their normal intensity plus it would mean less understanding etc. Usually they would only play 45 to 60 minutes too which would be even more disruptive.

Cheer up grumpy or I will send this fella round to give you a motivational speech Image

First post on this topic.

Dissapointed...... very. Not one itsy bitsy teeny weeny signing. Nothing! Not even a glimmer.

I only hope that we stay up. Not sure we will to be honest.

Is our owner gambling on all our players being fit? WOW. We haven't had a fully fit squad all season. Good luck Radz.....
Lets hope your faith (in whatever it is ) see's us through.....

I fear the excuses will come out why we can't improve the squad.

What is important if we do make any signings, we bring in players who are going to settle in quickly & do the job required.

Instead of doing everything they possibly could to give us the best chance of staying up, what do we get? A metaphorical shrug of the shoulders. It’s like my teenage son is in charge - “it’ll be alright”.

Staggering arrogance and utter disinterest. Appalling.

A Russian Roulette season for sure.

Spin.Click. Injuries miraculously clear up.

Spin.Click. Gelhardt gets more game time and bangs a few in.

Spin. Bang. MB persists with James up front and the gap to the bottom three narrows.

Spin.Click. Bamford is back sooner than later.

Spin.Bang. Bamford is out for most of the season.

Spin.Click. Despite everyone around us barring Norwich reinforcing their squads, they get no benefit from the signings.

Spin.Bang. The barcodes money and Lampard plus signings at the Toffees take them beyond the relegation fight.

Spin.Click. One or two other teams get drawn in. Brentford, Southampton?

Spin.Click. Raphinha has an immense end to the season, shop windowing his talents and single handedly saves our Premiership status.

Spin.Bang. He gets injured.

Spin. Bang. We go down.

Far too many swinging door moments for the old ticker but I can’t help think they would be eased if we had managed at least on or two loans. Everything crossed.

Does it really matter if they get relegated? They're clearly not good enough for this level, hence the hammerings they've taken. It'll just be more of the same next season. We shouldn't be classing Gelhardt, Summerville, Cresswell as u23s anymore, they're way beyond that level now.

Yes , I thought the same .Hope we were wrong and the club has made the right decisions . Can't see it myself though ........absolute shambles of a decision imo to stand still .If the club needs , say , 4 players .....why not get 2 in now , 2 in summer ........adapting 4 for example in summer would be harder than 2 now 2 later .......plus in reality Raph is going to need replacing so that's all creativity in the team gone .You then need a Raph replacement AND a Pablo replacement which hasn't happened .I wish Leeds would get an Orta replacement .

Providing we stay up, we should look at these players:
Brenden Aaronson
Noa Lang (to replace Raph )
Nicolas Raskin
Han-Noah Massengo
Calvin Ramsay

Plus a GK and a Striker (No more Arthur Cabral :verysad:)
