Always been ball playing centre backs Ruud Krol, Hansen, Baresi. One thing all could do is defend properly.

I love it when people claim my stuff as their own.

If he was it was the wrong ones.
Marsch OUT

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

Used to really rate Llorente as a technical defender.

Was never convinced by his physical suitability for the league but felt he read the game well and was decent on the ball.

Now he isn't decent on the ball and he is fast becoming a liability in every aspect.

Also he came with a reputation for being injury prone and it is well deserved.

A team whose manager (when signed) demands top physical attributes shouldn't be signing a player with his reputation and i now feel Orta made another recruitment error.

In a less physical league with more time he'd be fine.

In the Premier league he lacks the physical attributes and the speed of thought.

Needs a massive up turn or to be dropped and sold.

Another Orta special we'd lose money on i suspect

Tyro down. LLorente down. Harrison scoring. Rodrigo scoring and playing with a smile on his face. Maybe Jesse is charmed.

He's made of glass - get rid in the summer. Another expensive mistake by Orta when it comes to dodgy La Liga signings.

For me Llorente has had a lot to do with the calamitous defending this season - he's a totally c**p CB.

Sell him in the summer. We might still be able to get a decent fee for him. It won't be the £18m, but could probably get eight figures.

Cresswell looks like a real bruiser, that how I like my CB's.

Koch played well as CB when Llorente had to go off, he was much calmer than Struijk who has been poor since the Everton game…until Koch had to move position after Klich went off .

Me too mate. He's a class CB in the making , just hope we don't get rid in the summer. Needs to be a regular from here on in .

Agree with the consensus, Llorente too slow on the ball and gives it away in dangerous positions, as well as poor defending. Sell him along with Firpo who is also a liability in defence. Struijk needs a couple of games off to reset. Cresswell definately starts for me going forward.

And yes Paul Madeley, Paul Reaney and Norman Hunter would be worth a fortune today.

I always wondered if Llorente could play DM. He's been a bit poor on the ball this season, but last season was very good on the ball and he does have a good long pass in him.
