Candlestick was a dump. It got so cold there during baseball season they would award you the Croix de Candlestick if you sat through an entire extra-inning night game (I still have a few of those). The place was not built for American football, so many of the seats had an awful view of the field. Both the 49ers and Giants have new stadiums designed for football (American) and baseball, respectively, that are fantastic. The baseball park, in particular, is magnificent. People go to the games even if they don't like baseball just for the food and the views of the bay.

Tough crowd.

Unfortunately, Marcelo was obsessed with wingers, he wanted James in our squad, so much so after missing out signing James from Swansea we paid £25m to Manure for our Welsh wizard, money that could have been spent elsewhere in our squad.

It was Marcelo's decision to play James as a No.9, one of his intricacies that backfired on him.

Sterling, Grealish, Mahrez, Sane, Bernardo, Ferran Torres, Jesus(?), Nolito, Moreno, Gundogan, Dias ...all operate mainly right or left side.

Pep has spent approx £560m, like i say, we're a v very poor mans wannabe Citeh. Well we were i should add, now we'll never get anywhere near them for years and years and years, until, we find a Sheikh.

We couldn't afford nor attract the likes of Grealish (£105m) So £25m Dan showed promise and had speed, perhaps something Bert could work with and turn to gold ( KP).

Roberts & Rodrigo came to us as No.9's but struggled in that position, Gelhardt may not have been considered ready to be thrown in last September.

James gives us the energy up top, but sadly few goals.

We can't be compared to Citeh, they have a quality player from 1 to 22, we struggle 1 to 11.

The majority of those Citeh players mentioned would walk into our team.

Because of their quality, they can adapt to playing in any attacking position.

Hernandez was the same for us in the championship, he could play anywhere across our midfield

A few years later and back in Boston and I went to Fenway Park and watched the Boston Red Sox play. Full stadium, floodlights on, great atmosphere, great result and I was hooked. A year later and the Red Sox won their first World Series for nearly a century - coincidence?

Have seen a few baseball games; Atlanta, St Louis, Boston. Each time it was just a fun family afternoon, where the baseball was almost secondary to the traditional hotdogs, seventh innings break, songs, fireworks and a band after the game. Nice entertainment rather than a sport to be truly passionate about.

Must admit when I first watched Kabaddi I was hooked in 10 minutes. It’s brilliant.
