Positives: A beautiful clean sheet (there are lots of positives in the context of the result, but I'll go for that one)
Negatives: Everton won

Positive: Finally getting a 2-0 lead and the clean sheet
Negative: Still giving away so many cheap free kicks in good areas. Better teams will punish us.

1. Huge three points and it was nice to see how better we were with the correct peg in the correct hole ( Rod as a striker and Greenwood as a 10)

Marsch OUT
Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.
Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

Brilliant 3 points to hopefully guarantee PL football (and income) again next year.
Horrible, confused, disappointing football.

Positive: Won a vital 6 pointer. Get the points and get on the bus, who cares how well we played.
Negative: Fat Fwank got 3 points. But Everton do have some horrendous fixtures coming up.

Re: Positives & Negatives v Watford
Positives - Getting the luck at the right times - the 2nd goal was crucial as we'd been poor in the second half until that went in
Negatives - The second half performance until we scored - to be honest though at this stage of the season it is all about points rather than performance and Watford showed last week against Liverpool that they are no pushovers.

Erm isn't that what this threead is for???
Thought the idea is to find some positives even when we lose and similarly sometimes a win can sometimes not tell the true story.

Re: Positives & Negatives v Watford
Ah fair enough. I will be honest the football isn't as pleasing as it was when we were playing well under Bielsa but at this stage of the season it is all about 3 points no matter how we get them. We rode our luck today in that second half but had the quality when it mattered.
On a side note I thought the substitutions again were negative, taking off Klich (rather than Koch) and I would have kept James on rather than Rodrigo to give us more of a breakway threat but that's the beauty of armchair management and the 'wrong' decisions, in my view, worked out whereas we'll never know what would have happened if my substitutions had been made (probably win 7-0).

Positive: fantastic result in the end. The performance generally wasn’t great but at this point in the season the points are all that matter.
Negative: Despite a great run of games we are still not safe

Positive: We won, with added spice my ex’s BF is a massive Watford fan and it really pissed him off when I messaged her to wish him well in the Championship
Negatives: we had to play in Watford

P: 0-3 away win.
N: The performance with too many sloppy passes yet again.
Bet I haven't said the above statements together in years, well chuffed with the win even if it wasn't pretty.

Re: Positives & Negatives v Watford
Interestingly as all the narrative, especially in the media, is about how results have transformed since JM came in is that in the 6 fixtures since JM came in that the output is generally about the same.
Result against our last 6 opponents - Leicester, Villa, Norwich, Wolves, Southampton and Watford
Under Bielsa our record was 2 wins 3 draws 1 defeat. Goals for 8 goals againt 7. So 9 points and +1 gd
Under Marsch our record is 3 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats. Goals for 9, goals against 8. So points 10 and +1gd.
It is interesting that the general opinion is that we look better defensively, yet have conceded more goals under Marsch and whilst results have picked up markedly from what they were it suggests that the results are more influenced by the quality of opposition we have played rather than a specific up turn in performances.
I would say our performances against Norwich and Southampton were better under Marsch. Against Villa and Watford they were betteer under Bielsa (albiet the Watford scoreline was more flattering today) and the Leicester and Wolvers performance were probably about even (Wolves being a bit Jekyll and Hyde under JM).
Not having a dig at JM before people construe it that way as he has done very well and the signs are hopeful/promising and his big test is yet to come when his style of play completely takes over and he gets his own players in just thought the comparisons were interesting and not as black and white as a lot of people, especially the media, portray.

Scoring three goals & keeping a clean sheet
Gave the ball away far too many times.
