It really isnt. Good luck trying to keep momentum going in that timeframe.

Got to say all I saw was 'hoof ball' and hope.....I know its early days to judge but currently I am not convinced that the yank has much to offer.

I think much of our relentless ability to squander possession is system transformation. Everyone is playing loose passes and that is about a lack of chemistry. It will take time to impose a radically different style of play on a team full of Bielsaball muscle memory.
I doubt we will see any of the ball against city. It will be a backs to the wall performance where individual errors will get punished.

I thought Meslier looked confident and very solid tonight. He was my MotM just ahead of Ayling.
That's how we have to play against Citeh. Giving them loads of space will result in another 7-0, although I suspect they'll try and rest a few.

Agree.

The difference between last season and this has been night and day.

That was another shite display, the front 4 were hopeless and lacking all night, Raphinha did nothingof any note, not his fault he didn't get the ball most of the night, he looks like he's lost interest.
Too many wayward passes from the whole team tonight, I said before the game, a point would be ok, and thats a point gained imho, could be our dire goal difference point.

Mind you it's the same ones who were whining after Watford. Obviously they'd prefer relegation conceding 3/4 every week.
Exactly. This has become a place to whine and moan after an impresssive transition to 5 games undefeated with 3 wins and 2 draws, yielding 11 out of 15 points. Compare that to 5 losses and one draw in Bielsa's last 6 games in charge, with 21 goals conceded. We have conceded just 4 goals in the last 5 games.

And moaning about playing City next and what might happen, when we lost 7-0 last time we played them in December under the last manager...

If the quality is poor then blame the recruitment, not a manager who is doing really well with the lack of quality which he has been given to work with.

Poor performance, scraped a point at a tough place to go so not a bad night by any stretch BUT....I think we will now need 2 wins from the final 2 games as I reckon the next 3 are defeats .I can't see any attacking threat from us at all mainly because we are playing far too narrow. We can't retain possession for any length of time because too many of our players lack a 'first touch' which gives them an extra second to pick a pass and consequently the pass goes astray . The lack of quality is very alarming which needs addressing during the summer .

It's the recruitment which is the issue - no striker signed in 5 years or so, and ditto midfielders.

When Costa comes back how many wingers will be at the club ?

Don't you worry, our U23s are going to bring us success next season, the other Leeds team fighting relegation

Poor Sam & Joe looked like headless chickens against those big, experienced PL defenders tonight.

He thrived on that space out wide, running onto the defenders and cutting in. He just looks struck in treacle picking it up in the middle.
Totally agree. We hardly played any ball that an attacking player could run onto, mostly because they were all in a crowd throughout the game. On top of that our accuracy with simple passing was shockingly poor.

Llorente was horrific in the first half and Koch took over his mantle in the second half. How either didn’t get an assist for a Palace goal I’ll never know. Rodrigo was shattered with half an hour left to play and didn’t like the physicality of this game. Changes could have been made earlier, but it wasn’t a game that suited Greenwood in the slightest. That was a strange call.

On the positive side, we worked really hard, stood up to a physical side, we got a decent point and we will benefit from this game. Meslier, Harrison, Dallas and Cooper all played well.

The break clearly did not benefit us, other than getting Philips out on the pitch. We looked ring rusty. We’ll need a big step up if we are to even threaten City.
