I just hope if we lose 7-0, Marsch gets as much praise and applause as his predecessor got on here!

That first half tonight was very similar to our first halves against Watford and Wolves - very poor. I hope this doesn’t become a thing for our remaining games.

OOH someone's looking for a reaction, As much as I loved Mb's coaching it had it flaws, unfortuantely it may have cost us our Prem survival, please don't forget we are in the Prem because of MB, but his stubborness may be our down fall.
MB is gone and I won't forget what he did, but in the here and now we have to give JM our support
Stop worryin' about what people say, when it ain't gonna stop them anyway.

Leeds never looked like scoring, but were Palace ever good enough to find a way through Leeds' defence? No, so a fair result in the end and a valuable point gained. A trifle rusty up front, but the team worked hard to get back in numbers and get those strong tackles in when needed.
Overall pleased with the result, the clean sheet and work rate. Man City next and another point is much better than a thrashing to nil.

I must of been watching a different game.....Boo Radley wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 10:17 pm
Llorente was horrific in the first half
Meslier, Harrison, Dallas and Cooper all played well.
Llorente was easily the best defender in the 1st half..and indeed the whole game....and his late touch saved an obvious goal from Mateta..when Coops & Dallas were bypassed again by a long ball....and i would suggest those two were nowhere near their best. I actually thought Coops was going to be pulled when JM was getting Koch ready. Thankfully they both improved in the 2nd half.
On another note..bearing in mind all the talk of a change in tactics etc....someone needs to have a word with Ayling with regards his pressing game. He runs in too quickly..and he either commits a foul..or a clever bloke like Zaha reads the press and side steps and leaves him for dead. It happened all too often and exposed our defence unnecessarily. Dallas sometimes does it too..its ok pressing quickly..but dont let your momentum defeat you by being side stepped.

My apologies for lack of excellent commentary Swan but a mate dragged me out and i didn't really have my eyes on the game through beer and chatting, all i remember is me thinking and him saying at the same time....' have Leeds had a shot on goal yet ?"
It was the 91st minute.

I can't recall 1 incident of such with Bert.
The boyz running the gaff now ? Or do we have a leader ?
Things like this happen when players think they know better, problem is - they do in this case.

1. Oh you've fcking realised have you ?Cjay wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:54 pm Wasn't great and we needed the win for me.
1. The lack of quality in this squad is an absolute disgrace.
Palace have spent far less than us and have infinitely more quality.
The passing was dreadful and has been all season, 2. the amount of aimless long balls was dire.
3. The lack of creativity and quality in midfield is pathetic.
4. We have massive huge issues in this squad.
The style is to direct for me but I suspect a large part of that is down to a distinct lack of midfield quality.
It's to narrow for me, I worry what better sides will do to us in the wide areas.
I am far from convinced by Marsch and his system but the squad isn't his fault and that is a huge part of why we are where we are.
It's bottom 3 quality wise and is all huff and puff and running and 3 people are responsible for that and Marsch isn't one of them.
Greenwood is clearly his Roberts.

You can't polish turds, so you have to find a way to bring out the best in what you have and are working with.....know anybody for that ?

I'm currently watching a re run....fkinhell Paul i wanna remain positive but i'm seriously thinking that could've been our last point of the season with the teams we've left to play.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 9:14 pm The football was crap! Lazy passing and getting caught in possession constantly. Too narrow in my opinion. Lack of purposeful movement off the ball. Never really looked threatening. On the other hand it's a point and another clean sheet. Unbeaten in 5 matches. And one point closer to safety. Relegation fights are never pretty....
We need 3 worse than us.

It was your beloved bert who built this squad and severely overrated the players.

So basically you said Bert couldn't adapt to another system, and the Yank is narrowminded all the time.Cjay wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 9:17 pm What will baffle me forever is how are Bielsa and Marsch similar?
Fundamentally the systems are different.
Buelsa's system liked to make the pitch as big as possible and use the width.
Marsch likes to play as narrow as possible.
Bielsa.loved wingers (hence why we have 74 and no midfielders).
Marsch doesn't use wingers in his system at all and he prefers central players (which we have very few).
The pressing systems are different as well.
We have a squad built for a totally different system.
I am not convinced Marsch got the job because it was similar to Bielsa like Orta and Radz said I think he got it because he was Orta's mate.
This isn't meant to criticise Msrsch incidentally it's just never made much sense as a narrative despite what the club said.
Does he have anything in his locker ?
Other than - wasting KP who's value is depreciating as we speak.
