The lack of activity in the summer, particularly not attempting to replace Pablo, worried me but I did think we'd be alright. Not anything like last season, but good enough for mid table somewhere. Even when we did nothing in January, positive me said we'd be anxiously looking over our shoulders but would be fine, especially with key players coming back from injury. However, the complete debacle at Everton who, at that point, were utter dog sh*te, convinced me we were in serious trouble and I've been preparing myself for relegation ever since.

I myself could've gone around all the best left backs around the country that the lower tiers have to offer, and if i had £12m to spend could probably find at least 3 of the most promising hardworking 110% grafters with some speed and footballing sense.

If you're looking for a left back and can't just go and order one online like Klopp and Pep, you find out from all the lower clubs who their outstanding players are, like Burnley did with us say with Taylor, then you go watch them yourself and get all the fans views and their managerial staffs views, if you yourself don't think he's good enough you move on...there are 70 odd left backs in the lower leagues of Englich footy and about 30 odd from Scottish just for starters without even going abroad....Are you telling me there's no one better than De Bock among them 100 odd players ?

Well you've just mentioned someone there in Pablo where Bert in hindsight got it wrong and it's proved to be a big mistake, coz he definitely would've come in handy for a helluva lot of some games, i would've kept him even if i thought i'd only get 16 games out of him.

And yes that was probably Bert at his worst coz Pablo showed some sulking moments towards the end, i think Bert wrongly took that as backchat, when in my eyes it showed desire. But, you keep a hold of a horse by keeping a hold of the reins.
And we don't know what carried on for afters in the confines of the changing rooms.

Opening game of the season, I honestly thought "are we really going down this route again" to get battered by moan utd again was appalling, had we really learnt nothing from the previous season ?
Since then, it's just been dreadful, struggled against norwich , burnley , watford , southampton, we have been woeful, the board and Bielsa had the chance to rectify things, all 4 of them failed us badly.

Yes, I totally agree. That January window and our inability to act with all those factors in play, was pure negligence. Orta pissing off to Austria on a jolly, which was yet another smokescreen. Bielsa isn't blameless either with his idiosyncrasies and persisting with a small and under-performing squad. All that good work and 16 years in the wilderness, practically undone in two seasons. Utterly shameful and a f**king disgrace.

However, the impossible may still happen.

After 3 awesome seasons it started to go wrong and Bielsa did nothing to fix it. He became the poster boy for the saying (something like) "the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the result to be different".
Thank you for those great 3 years but shame on you for taking us to the edge of relegation.
