I would love to hear your well thought out analysis of why Marsch was the wrong appointment from day one.

He hasn't had the time yet Paul. But going off the games so far i have seen absolutely nothing positive that has made me sit up and think


" wow that's the managers influence that is, they never used to play like that, he's a new/different player, look at this transformation and new formation, jeez this guys gonna be good, the players seem to have found a new confidence in going forward, he's playing out of his skin, we're gonna batter other teams, we've gone from 4-1-4-1 to 3-4-3 and they've taken to it like a duck to water"

I have seen nothing, nada, zilch ...there is no identifiable Jesse mark that leads you to think this is gonna be great, but i'll tell you what i have noticed, a massive change to the football we're not playing, and that is making me feel he's gonna fail, and i usually spot things quite early.

Hopefully we somehow stay up and given time he proves me wrong, but i very much doubt it.

There's also the dream in me that we might somehow get Bert back if we go down and Radz fcks off with his clown, and new owners see the light.

Ironically, he’ll be closest to his ability level in the Championship. Many felt he needed a season there to bring him on - we just didn’t see it being with Leeds United!

As I've posted previously, his points average per game is better than what Bielsa was achieving.

The damage was done prior to his arrival.

I doubt Pep, Klopp or Tuchel could have got us out of the mess we're in, not in such a short period of time.

Would agree with you there. Like you say an improvement over the span of the same games (1 more point 3 goals better). Far from convincing and no standout victories (like Everton beating MU and Chelsea as an example) but he has kept us up and that was all that mattered this season. Looking forward to next season and hopefully seeing JM prove a lot of us wrong with attractive football and good results.

Marsch's here - Leeds way - well done
Heard this a lot about Leeds United and doing it the hard way. Part of the job in this club is to change that mentality. We deserve more/ We have an incredible club and team and honestly not by accident we have scored four winners j injury time. We have belief and we had to earn what we deserved.



Gameplan?
Find ways to press them and also, with the ball, unbalance them. First 25 minutes were very good. Lost some balls, they picked them up with second balls. Game got open and their good one vs one players got free. So happy to see in this moment, at the start, was play well and go after the game. As the half went on, better in possession. In the heat, with the concentration so important. Pressing moment for the penalty very good. Pushed at the end and kept the fate in our hands.


Burnley?
Coaching staff were just watching their match. Tried to communicate that, but tried to get the word out we wanted to win the game and make sure Burnley could not have the lucky punch to seal our fate.



Believe?
I believed all the way we were going to do this. I never talked about being in the Champ. This business is about belief and exuding it as a leader. Believed in the players and their resolve. Made us stronger, not weaker. Earned us what we think we deserve.


Summer?
All need a deserved break. Stressful time. Meeting in a few days to build those roster and this club to represent what we want to be. Teams always change. From the academy upwards we want to maximise potential.



Assurances on players?
I can't. I haven't even enquired. I read more than I am told.



Burnley?
Tried to pass on information when we had it. Didn't even know Brentford had lost a man to injury. Raphinha had to check a few times what we needed.



Pivotal moments last days?
I talked about, could not have another slow start. Had to re-organise tactically and mentally. We were perfect, could have played better

Stress on the touchline?
Been through this in MLS. Played in the heat a lot, but we don't in Europe. Brains melt, tough to keep feet going and minds going. I screamed more as a result to keep them engaged. This wasn't even that hot compared to the US. Resolve of the group.



Impetus in this job from staying up?
From the start, with Victor, I said no and then thought about it and the opportunity. Focus was on keeping us up. All about me and my connection to the club. I know the fan base and the community. Much more aware of the club and what it all means.



Youth moving forward?
A shame Summerville got injured too. He would have been more involved. Balance with playing active football is a mix of experience and youth. Younger legs. Leadership - incredible core. Total belief from the captain. Invest money and time and energy in young players.



Ninth to 17th - what needs to be done to avoid this again?
Been a band aid project than a project about style and identity. So much to do. Started the process in a good way. What we have from resources and people perspective. Just scratching the surface.



Moment with the fans?
Great for us. Love the energy. Never felt energy like that coming from these fans. I don't want them to chant my name, I want them to chant about the club, no one person. Don't worry about me. Criticise me, I don't care. We are Leeds United and we should be that at all times

The thing I like most about JM is that he will play young players, even at the expense of senior ones if he thinks they can do a better job.
Greenwood for Klich was an example of that today.
It's absolutely scandalous that Gelhardt had so little involvement earlier in the season with Bamford missing.

Jesse came in and turned things around. We were a team in serious decline and terrible form when he got here and he kept us up. Overall effort today was outstanding.

Will always love Bielsa for what he did for us; you had better use a reverential tone when you utter his name in my house.

Jesse, however, is our manager now. He did a fine job given the situation he was presented. I'm looking forward to him having the summer to assemble and prepare his squad.

I'm not sold on Marsch yet. But I really hope he is a success. We'll see after he's had a chance to reshape in the summer.
