I keep insisting we acquired the majority of our points from teams outside the top seven last season, with many draws as was the case with Wolves, yesterday we bettered that result, more victories against the Saints, Brentford, Palace, Leicester, Villa, Brighton, etc & we could conceivably finish between 9th & 12th.

Everton are at Villa with Palace at Liverpool next weekend

So three of our competitors could be on nil points after their first two games.

Three points for Leeds yesterday was so important imo!

Outside of the top 6, it's pretty much anyone's game. If you stand still, you get overtaken, as we saw for ourselves last year. Wolves and Leicester have both stood still this year, so don't be surprised if they struggle.

What I would love this season to have a great day out against one of the rich sides. Like Stu gave us at the Etihad.
While that was fun having our fans in the ground would be something. Best it hit last time was WH. It was great but not a n the same scale.
If Jesse gives us one of those this could be a fun season.

You can't count it's 14 the lines men are just as bad, but so fooking what, we know they hate us, which makes winning so much better

I thought we deserved to win, penalty ? maybe, outside box 100% foul, so yes, it ought to have been.
Wolves were wasting time from the 2nd minute on infront of the east stand, pathetic time wasters who cheated dived their way through 93 minutes, same wolves as last few seasons, pathetic tactical way to run a club, glad them , everton and villa got off to a winless start.
I don't know what powers the refs have over teams habitually time wasting, but it seems non whatsoever, if I were a wolves fan I'd be horrified by such tactics on a weekly basis.
Pascal was immense for us yesterday, there are still concerns at the back, particularly Kock & Llorente being too lightweight, Ramus isn't the quickest, but he won't be bullied and will become a cult hero for his never say die attitude, plenty positives, thought the new lads did well, especially Aaronson.
Great goal from Rodders although he blows hot & cold in the space of minutes.
Overall, pleased with the performance and result, was right on line with Bamfords pass from west stand upper when he put it across, shame is was an own goal.

Thanks for posting 64. The first time I’ve seen the incident and it is an absolute no brainer penalty. The goalie came charging out, missed the ball completely but literally punched Rasmus in the face and flattened him. Even if the referee was unsure (I don’t know how he could have been but we know all about one sided refs at Leeds) surely it must have been obvious to VAR with all the facility to see repeat viewings from every angle and in slow motion. The mind boggles!

I’ve mentioned previously that I initially welcomed the introduction of VAR in the hope that it would temper the worst excesses of biased referees (subconsciously or otherwise) but I’ve come to realise that, actually, nothing has changed.

I said at the end of last season I could see them struggling. I don't think they'll go down, but wouldn't be surprised to see them in 14th, 15th, 16th. Their fans aren't happy with the owners, but Chinese companies can't take money out of the country. Really surprised Neves is still there.

I think the reaction of their manager said it all.

They destroyed us under Marsch last season until they had a player sent off. He would have looked at the fixtures and thought while it might be a long grim season, they could get something at ER.

The Rasmus one is totally reckless. The excuse is the keeper isn't actually looking at the player. He knows exactly what he’s doing. VAR will give that for any of the top 6 100% of the time

THe problem is , they get funding from the PL, so they are going to give results that the PL want...just like Scientists give the results that fits the ones providing the funding, the whole world is corrupt, get used to it

Just watched the match re-run on Sky, and we were well worth that victory. The streams I tried to watch were horrendous- kept switching to the Newcastle game, and as a result I missed all the goals, and it was only consistent for the first 15 mins of the second half, the only time that Wolves were on top, with Neto giving Rasmus a grilling. I thought that the new boys did well, and Aaronson is destined to be a fans favourite.
