Just keeping tabs on twitter and every time Leeds score I know that a couple of scrolls later the opposition will have score - do they always just go to sleep after scoring

Perkins scores again. For those keeping score, thats:

Perkins 4 Joseph 5

First three games, Perkins has been playing on the wing with Joseph up front. But come a first team striker injury crisis, I think Perkins is the most likely to get the call at Number 9

Leeds win 2-1. Three games - won 2 drawn 1 (which we should have won). Would love to see us get promoted again. Not sure our defnce is strong enough. The season we did get promoted, 2 years ago, we had Drameh, Cresswell, Casey, Huggins at the back. We're not that strong this time around.

We signed Perkins after things started going quiet. When it was clear that De Kettle preferred Milan and we weren't making much noise about the other links.

It made me wonder. Will the Perkins signing make us less interested in signing a striker? He plays as a winger/attacking mid for the juniors, but he was a striker for West Ham last season. And I think he's ahead of Joseph in the pecking order towards senior Number 9's.

The club is obviously looking at other options - like the Gnonto bid. But I don't think they're too bothered about it now. My read is that they see 3 number 9's in the senior squad. And in a crisis, Perkins isn't far off first team football. I'm not saying that's the answer but that's my read.

In fairness, Perkins did have some 1st team experience with West Ham. And he does look a cracking prospect. He came to us because he saw a better future which must mean we're planning some 1st team minutes for him this season.

Just watched the highlights on the Leeds website. Looks like we dominated more than the scoreline suggests. Missed a pen as well.
Perkins looks a real prospect. Maybe he will get a run against Barnsley?

Perkins is clearly far too good for this level. I'm not sure how this all helps their development. He won't have left West Ham to play a league below, so he must have been promised first team football at some point.

I'd rather go up when we're ready to stay there, rather than struggle again. More important for me, is how the u18s do, as I feel that is the more important age group. U21s is just basically a reserve team and not many will play for us.
