He gave us a real spark when he came on.

Think we have the best three wingers in the league.

James certainly did make an immediate impact.

I love Dan's attitude.

After his £25m move to Leeds, he was forced to play as a No.9, which affected his form & progress.

Marsh sent him packing to Fulham, where he never settled.

On his return to ER, he was one of a very few who didn't want away.

Under Farke, Dan has knuckled down & developed his game, adding to his sublime pace, improved shooting & crossing & work rate, he maybe our only free-kick specialist going by the limited opportunities he's had, a shame he wasn't on the park when Summerville made a mess of it with his powder-puff attempt from just outside the box.

The ship steadied with his goal. Hit a post as well.

So cool, it seemed an eternity before the ball crossed the line.

Instant relief for our fans.

It was a longtime coming that 2nd goal, certainly settled a few nerves as it's always a vunerability at 1-0 , one set piece can easily put the opposition back in the game even when they've created nothing.
2-0 and another clean sheet :)

Personally I think it was fortunate it skipped up off Bryan’s attempted block on its way towards goal. If it had stayed on the floor I think it would have been cleared by a defender. He deserved that bit of luck, but I do not subscribe to the suggestion it was a cool well executed finish.

I think the the "cool" part was that he waited for the best chance, even taking a stutter step or two to get the keeper and first defender to commit. Other players might not have had the patience to let the defenders commit before taking the shot, especially when the ball was put right onto the edge of the box for him.

James fooled the keeper by feigning a shot on goal, who had committed himself diving to his left, Dan then just fired down the middle of the goal, very clever!

Dan is massively improved under Farke's shrewd management, to be fair he was more productive in the 20 minutes he was on the pitch than Willy, I'm not knocking Gnonto as we desperately needed a goal at the time to settle our nerves.

One of our most underrated players, even though his 12 goals & 8 assists speaks for its self.

I don't think their is any luck involved in giving yourself the best chance of getting the ball through a crowded goal line. The little dummy committed the keeper to his left then Dan struck it hard to the keepers right.

The other option would have been to hit the ball first time as it came to him, that makes it difficult to apply power AND accuracy.

He has been criticised in the past for a lack of end product. In less than 20 minutes on Sunday he scored, hit the post with a cracking shot and set Paddy up with a perfect cross that the defender did really well to block from being a goal.

I am a Fan of Dan and it will be interesting to see if he can carry this season's form into the upcoming Wales game(s), if he is picked on the wing?

same, he delayed way too much and let them get three people on the line

was somewhat lucky to squeeze it through, but he did, so hey ho

but should have been quicker and just slotted it with his second touch, but he'll never be a natural in front of goal

Me too and I would agree - some things can certainly come down to luck in football, but I don't think that was the case here. How many times have we seen some of our guys rush things and not take the best shot? All because they're dying to score (which I get, especially for our young, gifted guys). But I think Dan knew what he was doing, got the keeper and defender to bite and took the best shot he could there. Isn't that the kind of thing we're always screaming to see? Willy's goal was certainly a beauty, and his skill is A-mazing, but I appreciated Dan's patience and experience in that moment almost as much. Both goals were great for me, just in different ways.

Spot on assessment of Dan's brief display.

Only Summerville betters Dan's goals/assists stats, strange how the likes of Rutter, Summerville, Gnonto & even Piroe receive more recognition than James.

Dan James has found his best form :fire: so far thanks to our manager Daniel Farke. Almost unbelievable that for a short while in the beginning that most of us thought he wouldn't be good enough. :soccer: :soccer:

The old Dan James would have over hit a large percentage of shots and crosses but the new version is still using his pace but then taking a split second and composing himself after beating his marker, that’s the difference imo.
If you are in full Forrest Gump mode, it’s difficult to control a ball wherever level you play at.

Always liked Dan James was just a case of waiting for the ideal circumstances to align so he found his confidence again - still convinced we would of gone up had we signed him the first time. scum and then his first season with us messed him up a bit.

I've just watched Dan's goal from the Wales match again.

It took him 11 seconds from being a couple of yards out from his own D to the ball going in.

The defender didn't have a clue he was coming at that pace.

His goals per minutes played is looking very good over recent games.

He is proving to be some weapon to bring on for both club and country.

Dan's pace is phenomenal, he's like a greyhound ;-)

Now James is managed correctly, he'd be automatic for our Premier League squad, imo!

Didn't get to watch the match cause of the Luna situation, but not too shabby for 17 mins.

Don't know how many times I've wanted to see Dan nick a goal this way and I missed it

Glad to see his constant effort and running pay off for him.
