Match Thread West Ham Utd 2-3 Leeds Utd Match Thread - Harrison hattrick!

Post by Ellandback1 »

Sunday 16th January 2.00pm | London Stadium

Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo face a race against time to be available Sunday, as Leeds face their second visit in a week to the London Stadium, home of West Ham Utd. Having unjustly lost 2-0 in the FA Cup, their misery has been compounded with the news that Sam Greenwood will miss the trip to East London following the injury he picked up on Sunday. Rodrigo was spotted getting on board the plane at Leeds Bradford airport alongside Pascal Struijk. Bamford was absent due to his wife going into labour. Should Bamford and Rodrigo not be available or not deemed fit enpugh the Whites will be without any recognisable forwards. Bielsa is likely to opt for either Raphinha or James to lead the line

Bielsa will also be without Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton, Kalvin Phillips, Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt due to injury though Pascal Struijk has made the trip. Tyler Roberts and Diego Llorente also miss out as they serve a one match suspension, though Roberts is injured anyway. Junior Firpo will return to the starting line if he passed the concussion protocols following his coming together with Meslier last Sunday.

West Ham have no new injury worries following their 2-0 win over Norwich last night (Wednesday). Aaron Cresswell returned after almost four months on the sidelines. He completed 90 minutes, and looks set to start on Sunday. Nikola Vlasic will deputise for Said Benrahma who is away on International Duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

I liked the tweet from Mickey P Kerr "Due to the amount of injuries generated during training Marcelo Bielsa has downgraded Murderball to Manslaughterball" :)

No transfers in yet, hooray, three cheers for Radz and co

There must be some homeless fella we could give a few cans of super strength lager to and ask if he minds playing up front for us on Sunday :duno:

Failing that let's go with our multi-skilled, tried and tested number 9s Jack Harrison and Dan James

I expect MB will go with:

Meslier
Dallas
Ayling
Hjelde
Firpo
Koch
Forshaw
Klich
Raphinha
James
Harrison

The FA will be saved a bit of work, they can just appoint the same officials and VAR fellas as they already have the script from last week

Would love a result, but seriously doubt we'll get out in London again :(

It's the hope that kills you, hoping our players return, hope we bring some new players in, hope Tyler gets sold!

I enjoyed Suicide Squad, great bit of escapism .. DC movies tend to take themselves too seriously but this was fast paced and amusing.

Jarrod Bowen v Norwich

Two goals :soccer: :soccer:
Goal disallowed by VAR.
Hit the crossbar.
Hit the post.
Immense work rate

5 goals, 4 assists in his last 7 appearances

On fire :fire:

Bowen is the diver right? Makes Grealish look positively upright?

Truly hope Firpo is allowed to play after his dizzy spell.

Also Hjelde did nothing wrong last Sunday & deserves to retain his place alongside Koch.

How many CB permutations have we've had over the last two seasons?

You know me, having a balanced line-up.

I'll be amazed if Koch plays at CB on Sunday.

MB will stick Dallas at RB and Ayling at CB with Hjelde so that we have Koch at DCM.

Wonder if Max Dean will get some minutes?

Rodrigo and Struijk have been spotted at the airport with the squad.

Patrick Bamford is not there.
