And continuing the tree theme………we saw this odd looking tree standing between a house and the road, in a corner of the pavement in an old part of Lisbon, when there a few weeks ago.

Apparently it’s a Phytolacca dioica, or more commonly known as a Ombu or Elephant Tree………everyday’s a school day 😀

Dubai after the worst rainfall in 75 years. Transport system came to a standstill. Cars abandoned and floating around the roads. The picture from our hotel entrance shows just a very small sample of what things were like. Our hotel was only accessible by walking through knee deep water.
The joys of being on holiday :)
