Re: Archie Gray- Is now considered a first team player

Difficult to say for sure at 16, but he looks to have everything to be a star. Get a bit of muscle on that frame and he can continue the famous family name at LUFC, looks a player

Actually that touch on the lob back in is top quality, so easy for that to have gotten away from him an dropping over his shoulder made it doubly hard, He also gets more confident and just better as the game goes on

Sublime lobbed ball into the right area, also the pass to the right (think it was played to Drameh) was also superb.

Really hope he is OK.

It didn't look good at all.

Stretcher and a brace.

McGinn will deny it but he knew exactly what he was doing.

See it all the time.

Player leaves one on your teammate and then you clatter them later.

To do that to a 16 year old in a friendly is disgusting.

Friendly or not he should have been sent off (ref was clearly out of his depth).

I wish Archie well.

Villa were at it from the start, the ref lost all control of the game which was supposed to be a friendly match.

It was absolutely horrible to see. McGinn is a disgrace to the game. And the referee was well and truly out of his depth. We should have had a premier league quality referee at the game today.

Indeed.

A Premier League ref would have stamped out those hard tackles early doors (on both sides).

Premier league refs were fairly sh*t last season. A premier league ref would have probably booked Gray for diving and then the FA would have hit us with some hefty fine.

Would be typical of our luck to lose him for the season in a pre-season friendly. Hope it's not too serious.

Bremner, Norm Giles, Vinny would have eaten up the scotch egg for breakfast.

Hope the bullying twat suffers a similar serious injury.

Gray was late on Buendia and you often see a teammate seek retribution for that.

McGinn trying to put the kid in his place sort of thing.

Got me thinking.

Would he have done the same to inexperienced 18 year old 6ft5 powerfully built Darko Gyabi?

I suspect not.

May have tried. He looks infinitely more likely to look after himself at the moment.
Hopefully the senior pros remember. Rolling around like a girl doesn't help I might add (Buendia)

Jesse has confirmed Archie is OK.

He will be training alone today with the hope he can play some part vs Palace on Friday.

Excellent news.

If he's training alone I wouldn't risk him for a friendly on Friday.

Yeah, no need to risk him now. Get him back up to full strength for the Cagliari game. We've witnessed enough to know he's a great prospect, and I'd really like to see more of the Adams-Roca partnership and another appearance for Gyabi.
