There weren't any consequences this season. No relegation to worry about. So I think they intentionally made it a rebuild year. As you said, pushing forward a lot of the 18's. And to be fair, the 18's do look a decent batch. Bodes well for the next couple of seasons. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 9:34 am Final game lost 4-2 away to Brom which pushed us down to 3rd from bottom in the end... Not a great season but the 21's has been badly butchered this season and ignored in terms of adding talent plus it's been an U18's a lot of the time
Leeds U18s 0-4 Man City U21s

Only to be expected based on what Subhuman and AJS have already said.
They'll get better as they get more hair on their balls.
Many of those who have played for the U21's this season will be playing in the FA Youth Cup Final.

Had we used some of our redundant bench, we'd probably be higher up in the table.

Really hard to understand why Klaessen, Cresswell, Gelhardt, Shackleton, and Joseph haven't played a few games. A couple of those weren't even getting a minute of first team football.

Has CC kicked a ball for more than 10 minutes this season?andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 9:53 pm Really hard to understand why Klaessen, Cresswell, Gelhardt, Shackleton, and Joseph haven't played a few games. A couple of those weren't even getting a minute of first team football.

Re: Leeds U21s
You'd think Cresswell would have loved to play for the 21's. I mean they're footballers. When I was in my teens and 20's all I wanted to do was play (football or cricket). And I'd play for whatever team I could as long as I got a game. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 11:04 pm Has CC kicked a ball for more than 10 minutes this season?
I get that our first team squad has been thin all season. And there were a lot of 21's games that were the same day or the day before a senior game. So Farke wasn't going to risk anyone in those. But there have been plenty of times when they could have played. I don't get the logic in not giving them game time. Sure. There's something to be said for training with the first team. But you can't beat playing time. And the players mentioned (Klaessen, Gelhardt, Cresswell, Shackleton) would surely have been happier getting some playing time with the 21's.
Re: Leeds U21s
Very strange, the reason they'd have been no good to us coming off the bench, due to not being match-fit.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 9:53 pm Really hard to understand why Klaessen, Cresswell, Gelhardt, Shackleton, and Joseph haven't played a few games. Re: Leeds U21s - FINAL LEAGUE TABLE
I don't see the U18's final on LUTV. Any ideas?
